I was curious how the new owners might have changed this favorite date night dinner spot and found it was still as wonderful as ever. It was packed on a Saturday night with a nice cross section of diners and lively atmosphere. My only true critical observation is that it’s quite loud. When I can’t hear my date across the table from me, it’s really too loud. Otherwise, the service, food, wine selection, atmosphere were all as good as with the previous longtime owners. Enjoy!
Not sure what the last two reviews were all about. I think they were at a different restaurant. Ocean 60 doesn’t have rack of lamb- at least not last Thursday. Anyway it was our first visit here and we loved it. Every bite of every course was fabulous. My husband had a wedge salad and seafood special. I ordered escargot for my first course and scallops for my entree. Divine!
Great martinis for happy hour!. Have to admit that we did not eat here, but the drinks at the bar were fantastic! Bartender was personable, he made all of our martinis to perfection and we couldn’t beat the happy hour price for Neptune Beach!!! Glad we stepped in to check it out 🙂
Wretched food. My wife and I each had a salad and rack of lamb for our entree’s. The salads were so over dressed they looked like sundaes. It was not possible to taste anything but dressing.. The main was served over a bed of dry chunks that were unrecognizable and without taste (the manager told us later they were root vegetables). The meat was raw and of low quality. The entree was topped with some kind of onion strips and a sauce both of which tasted as though they had come from cans. The service was reasonably prompt and courteous. I travel on my job and eat dinner at restaurants three to five times a week. I’m hard pressed to remember a meal prepared so poorly.
I agree, I too have had two bad experiences there with the manager. I will never go back.
The manager thinks its ok to smoke around patrons that are eating outside the restaurant in a designated eating area. I will never go back to ocean 60 and I frequent the beach restaurants quite often. I was most turned off by the blatant disrespect spawned by the manager. He was the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered.
