New Owners. I asked the owner about the bad reviews from 2011 and he informed me that they had taken over the shop and reopened it in 2012. I was wondering about the reviews because every time I have went there in the last year I have had great service and there is a line out the door sometimes.

The bad reviews below (2 years old) don’t reflect this place these days. Great vibe, good muffins and cookies. Interesting people, which should be attributed to NSB in general. I couldn’t imagine NSB without this place. Kind of like a morning pub. Two thumbs up. Way up.

An authentic pleasant place for coffee!. This is THE morning hangout place on the beachside in New Smyrna. It’s REAL and cozy, not a plastic corporate box. Important to me after being stuck in synthetic Los Angeles for a year… mix of locals and tourists. Staff I’ve encountered are a bunch of young friendly folks -and never encountered any rudeness. Sometimes I bring my 5 and 8 year-old daughters and never any problems -in fact treated great!stuff to color, etc. -read that in earlier review about hating kids and all – havent seen that and my kids can be HANDFUL. Re. their coffee -the regular flavors are ok -not sure abut the lattes etc.-never get them… BUT: their espresso is great -I do at least one shot / day with them. I go there often to get out of the office -and use their wireless to get my work done. Hang out here for an hour and you’ll rub elbows with lots of important locals and know everything going on in NSB…

Lousy. We each ordered a cappuccino & a muffin, plus a small $2 bag of chocolate-covered espresso beans. We were surprised to be charged $17 for this; there was a sign at the front saying they raised their prices recently. But whatever, we wanted coffee, so we took it (in paper cups) and sat down. It was awful stuff! The espresso was bitter & tasted metallic. I didn’t finish it. Haven’t found a good coffee joint in New Smyrna yet, but this isn’t it – you might as well stop at a gas station for coffee (tastes the same but cheaper).
