Best Sushi of My Life. I have eaten sushi at some of the finest restaurants of NYC and have been amazed at the quality of Yu Mi. Mike put together the 3 best sushi rolls I have eaten in my life. I have eaten sushi for ten years and this is the first time I have ever taken some home knowing that I will finish the remains. The staff was pleasant and the food was delectable. The decor was inviting. This is the second review I have ever written and is well deserved.
I dearly love this place, just wish you could see the menu as it’s so dark inside.I had Shrimp Tempura, and it was so good, however, the place is closed all the time.I keep going back, but it’s closed ,so what’s the deal with them being closed are did they go out of business ?.
Excellent. Sushi is excellent & so was service!!! Will definitely go back.
Love it here. So delicious! Great service! Must try if you havent already!
The portion size for the what you spend is laughable
Dining through the murk at Yu-mi. My aunt and I went out to eat yesterday, and decided on Yu-mi. We found it to be a murky dark den, where reading the menu was difficult. Neither of us had a flashlight or lighter, so we couldn’t examine the whole menu, but managed to find some recognizable items. I asked to get our chosen appetizers at the same time, but they arrived over 10 minutes apart. So old auntie had worked on her miso soup long before I got my sushi. The miso was so salty that she had to quit midway. I liked my sushi. A few minutes later she got her chicken teriyaki, and we both agreed it tasted great. Some minutes later I got my tempura dinner, and it was quite tasty. But the rice was definitely not cooked in the Asian style nor with Asian rice. The grains were entirely separate and could not be worked with my chopsticks. I enjoy that aspect of Japanese cuisine, and I’m good at it, so it was disappointing to resort to a fork.I’ll give them a B- on general taste and quantity, but a failing grade on ambiance, service and ingredients.
Really great sushi, service, and atmosphere. We had three rolls and all were delicious, especially the NSB roll. Server was super friendly and sushi chefs sure know their business.
