This place had some good and bad points. It’s a counter service outdoor seating venue. The line was long, but we got through it quickly and easily found a place to sit. The food overall was good, but not as great as some of the reviews. Upon returning I would get the chicken, not the ground beef or steak. I’d probably just stick with the chicken tacos. Overall it was a good value and had tasty options. It just helps to know what not to get.We had the chips and queso and I had the chicken nachos. The chips weren’t bad, but not great. On both counts there were a lot more chips than topping so I wouldn’t get either again. The chicken and toppings on the nachos were good. The queso is a bit spicy, but is tasty. My daughter loved the chicken tacos. My son liked the shrimp taco. He also had the chimichanga, but it was beef and wasn’t that great. My husband had the steak burrito with the spicy sauce option and the sauce was good, but steak was only ok. I also decided to get a couple of the more unusual items on their menu: the yucca fries and the plantains. The plantains were good, not great. The yucca fries were interesting. I’ve never had them before. They were kind of like potatoes, but thick and with an unusual taste. I also found it odd that there was no salsa option. There was a chili sauce in a bottle on the table, but that was it.
Stopped here on January 9, 2016 after eating at Cafe Verde as we were still hungry. Not for long! The nachos were a dream of cheese, chicken, beans and so much more. The prices were great my friend had fried plantains and some black beans and rice. Friendly atmosphere, exceptional food I can’t wait to come back. I give it a 4.5.
A-MAZING. Perfect tex-mex food. Simple as that. reminds me of Taco Bus (if you’re near the Tampa area) but SO so much better. You can tell its a local favorite – filled with locals and a handful of flyby tourists. The atmosphere is total surf – loaded with surf and skateboard stickers and such. Very awesome! **It’s only outside seating so be aware** That being said, I went in July and I am someone who gets hot very easily and I found the location to be perfect for a nice cross breeze. Plus there are countless overhead fans and shade so you really do not get that hot. Ordered the Cuban – one of the BEST I have tasted. The mustard sauce was killer. The chips are pretty good – can tell they are store bought but they put on a homemade seasoning so it makes up for it. The yellow rice was so-so. All i can say is the sandwiches are on point! Not a place for a fancy meal (comes on paper plates and styrofoam bowls for the rice) but Absolutely perfect for lunch or feel good food!
Best tacos for 100 miles!
They’re never open. Hours of operation are more like a maybe we’ll be here around then time. Do not waste your time.
We had a great time and good lunch. Fish tacos & Empanadas both with Spanish rice, black beans, read beans and a side of guacamole & chips. We can’t wait to go back !
Everything is spiced just right. Fresh and homemade.
