I had the smoked brisket and tater tots this afternoon. Lunch was rather good with the sweet BBQ sauce I put on it. One thing for the kitchen though, a couple more slices of brisket would make for a more pleasant sandwich. With that a being said, I really like the sweet BBQ sauce. Perfect for anyone.

Our new go to for BBQ. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Had the pulled pork plate with two sides. We will definitely be back!

I loved the food but the prices were pretty high for the portion sizes. the turkey was worth the high price. mmmm

Needs improvement. Pros: Friendly service, good sweet tea. Cons: Portions are laughably small for the price. Quality of BBQ was alright, the sauce was tasty. If they had reasonable portion sizes I would be back again.

Good Eating. I always order a pork bbq plate. There is always more than i can eat. It tastes great. I will eat here every chance i get. The price is very reasonable.

Used to love it. I stopped by last night and something seemed different. It was still called Benny’s but the smoker out front was gone as were all of the trophies (except one that was mounted on the wall). I decided to give it a try anyway. I ordered a pound of beef, two orders of fries, and an order of corn nuggets to go. The total was about $22. I got home and opened the container with the corn nuggets and there were seven of them! Over $2.00 for seven nuggets! I opened the container with the brisket in it. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was paper thin and sliced along the grain. It looked as though it was cut with a meat slicer. I’ve never seen brisket sliced this way in my life. It tasted fine and was tender, though. Please note that I never had the brisket when Benny owned the place so I don’t know if that’s something that he taught them to do. Anyway, I won’t be returning to Benny’s again. I used to love the place but not anymore.07 Feb, 2014Used to be great. I stopped by last night and something seemed different. Great Place. As I read reviews from good mood food, Robman1 and Spasm321 (all from Destin, FL.) I could only think the reviews must have been written from a disgruntled employee. Why would he mention a delivery company (which they do not use)? The sweet potatoes are cooked exactly the way they have been cooked from years ago, the collards are true southern cooked recipe, which sell out quickly and all the meats are high quality meats just as they were with the former owner. The portions are the same as they were with the former owner and in some cases more. The only changes made from what I can see and taste is more items are offered on the menu with a better taste than with the original owner. The new owners are very interested in the satisfaction of their customers and from what I have witnessed, they make sure the customer is happy. I have tried all the meats, including the burger and have never been disappointed with any of it since the new owners have taken over. All the sides are great and because of that it is hard to make a choice. The loaded baked potato is a special treat anytime! This is a great place to eat and you can tell by the packed house every day!
