Ate here on a whim and had a great experience. Waiter was very nice, food (shrimp poboy and muffelata) was good, bread pudding ala mode was yummy. Waiter took my daughters pasta Alfredo off the bill because she didn’t like it (she’s ridiculously picky) without our even asking. Will go back!

Great service! The waiter was on point. The blackened Stuffed Red Fish was phenomenal; however, the pasta not so much. Perfect location for a great sunset dinner though.

Service is BAD!!!. My wife and I visited Dockside on 02/19/2015. We have been going there since they opened at the N.L. Marina location, but this trip was horrible. We ended up sitting at the bar since we learned several trips back that you tend to get better service from the bartender than the wait staff. It started with an employee with a beard that we believe was some sort of a manager, since he didn’t appear to be doing anything other than talking, took a phone call. After the call he decided to tell customers about the call. Apparently a German lady was trying to schedule a reservation. He tried to make her sound like an idiot. You do NOT talk about customers to other customers. We ordered a pitcher of beer and a dozen raw oysters. Beer was good, oysters came out with top shell off, but oyster not cut from bottom shell. My wife ordered a Shrimp Poboy. She ended up getting a fried shrimp platter. It came with some god awful sauce that I have never seen there before. I can’t describe the taste other than Bad. The bartender was on her cell phone texting and also had a plate of food in the corner that she kept eating from. Most restaurants that like good Health Department scores have rules against employees eating on the floor. We used to recommend this place to friends. Not so much any more. Ernie, ya need an experienced restaurant manager that you’re willing to listen to. Food is good. Service is abominable. It seems that there is no direction there.

We have come here 3 times within a month. The first time was on a Saturday for college football. They have an Awesome sports bar. Several TVs and drink specials. All 3 times the food has been amazing. The Po’ boys and gumbo are very authentic to New Orleans. The catfish and jambalaya special is also delicious and a great deal. We will be back many more times.

Exceptional Ladies Day Out Lunch at Dockside. Our Monday girls lunch out at Dockside on Bay Shore Drive was delightful! The atmosphere and view were relaxing. The food was delicious with generous servings except the cheese grits were dry with very little cheese flavor. The fried seafood, sandwiches and both types of muffalettas were flavorful and appropriately prepared. I asked about the loaded baked potato salad and the server brought out a generous sample with a spoon for each of us! Next time, I’m ordering it! Our server was attentive to every need and never had to be summoned, she suggested we try the bread pudding which was enough for two persons. It was crisp on the outside, soft & chewy inside with the flavor of French toast. The caramel sauce was good, but not needed for flavor. We had privacy to talk as the only customers in the dining area. Others were in the sports bar. The restrooms were immaculate with fresh supplies available. They could use a waste basket outside the restroom for paper towels used to open the door knob.
