Chef Fabio (ex-Panaretto) Does It Again!. The Ducati group eats here now every Tuesday night (we followed the chef when he left Panaretto where we had gone weekly for years) and after 5 weeks of meals here I feel qualified to say La Cucina Veneziana is a rare find – true authentic Italian food served with a personal touch that’s just too hard to deliver in a larger setting, at these $$ prices. Chef Fabio (he started Panaretto Pizzeria and Panaretto Express but recently split with the Panaretto partners) has expanded the Panaretto Express breakfast and lunch to include dinner, stepped up the menu and added (introduced?) the bruschetteria concept which is common in Italy but really unusual here. Forget those little crunchy toast rounds, this is great bread taken to a new level – Basically think French Bread Pizza – delicious thick crunchy bread with your choice of custom toppings – anything from buttery mozzarella burrata with tomatoes and basil (like the worlds best caprese!) to melted cheese and meat or whatever you are in the mood for. Order as dinner or a starter for the table, your choice. Bella! (Can you tell I really love great bread?)Other items I have tried – The spaghetti Bolognese and spaghetti carbonara are a must try (I think the carbonara is the best I have ever had including in Italy where I order it often. My husband gets this every week, which is pretty funny because he say’s he doesn’t like cheese ) The mussels marinara (I like them spicy) are as good as it gets. The pasta purses stuffed with pears in a creamy blue cheese sauce had me practically licking the plate. Finish with great Italian coffee and gelato or italian creamy cake with red berries. I also really like the big comfy outdoor sofa’s for coffee after dinner, or wine and conversation before. I have not had breakfast but I am told it’s good. I can vouch for lunch, Fabio serves the best Ceasar salad in town and the sandwich’s are on that same awesome bread. Located in the corner of the Roselli Building it’s a little hard to find, but it shares a parking lot with local landmark Pure Platinum so look for that and you are there….
