Excellent food. The food is very good and there are many choices. The servings are generous, and we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. We had the house wine and it’s by far the largest glass of wine we’ve ever had in a restaurant. The service is a little unusual. One person brought water, another bread and the owner took our order. Unfortunately, he forgot my husband’s so he had to watch us eat until his entree arrived. Service was slow to clear plates. We waited 15 minutes for our checks and never got them so we went to the register to pay. So just a word of caution … don’t be in a rush!
Consistently outstanding !!!!. The food, the service, the ambiance at Carmine’s is consistently outstanding. Proprietor Angelo or his wife Stella personally greet you as you enter and wait on your table.. My friends and I dine there almost weekly and each time the food is as good if not better than the last. A truly outstanding dish is the Grouper Florentine. It’s not on the menu, so ask for it. The salad greens are fresh and the bread freshly baked on the premises. The pasta fagioli soup is sooo delicious and always served piping hot. Some in our group take a bowl home with them. The tasty wine … always a generous portion in a large glass. There is no Italian restaurant in Marion or Citrus that will give you better food, service or value.
My family and I Recently visited Carmine’s on the recommendation of some friends. I am pleased to report the experience has placed this establishment among my favorites in Ocala. Everything was superb. Food, service,wine, ambiance and Angelo… We intend to return again and again. Thanks for a fine dining experience…
