Not convenient for the palate!Definitely day old food and felt like my nationality was served the older food. OLD. Pica de gala. Old meat, will welcome any real Mexican food but NOT there!!!!!!!
Very Good!!. Passing through from Orlando looking for dinner when we came across El Toreo. Was going to another restaurant when I saw that this one was closer. Reviews were very 50/50, but I’m not sure why. Service was fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Texas Margarita was quite good, the Tacos Arrachera were devine, and the Enchilada Combo wasn’t too bad (the cheese & beef were better, in my opinion than the chicken). Overall a good experience at reasonable prices!27 Sep, 2014Tacos Arrachera. Best, traditional flavor I’ve had in a while.
Congratulations! Worst Mexican food award. Avoid this joint.
One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. Great service, authentic food, and decent prices. The sizzling fajitas are great, cheese dip is a little overpriced for the portion you get but good, they have a good selection of American kids meals for picky eaters. Overall great restaurant with staff who stays on top of things.
I truly do not understand the negative reviews about this place. I am a true Texan and love Mexican food and both times I have eaten here the food has been spot on delicious, plus the margaritas last night were only .99! Whenever I am traveling through Ocala I will eat here for sure.
Combo dinner #3 taco, enchilada, and chili re llano. Chili was some kind of beef mush resembling potted meat. It was not stuffed in a pepper. It had a piece of pepper in the mush the size of a quarter. When I complained it was pointed out that in fine print below all the combo’s it stated that it wasn’t a stuffed pepper. Worst customer service and Mexican food I ever experienced.
Always good for a late lunch before the crowds. I’ve been to El Toreo a few times and each time that I’ve gone, I’ve had a good experience. The service has always been good–staff has always been attentive with us and always offers to bring out more chips–which have always been fresh and warm when brought to us. The Seafood Chimichanga that I ordered hit the spot and I’d order it again if given the opportunity. I did make the mistake of ordering the Camarones a la Diabla (will post a photo–came with a side of rice and steamed vegetables) and informed the waitress that I like it hot–big mistake–it practically melted my tongue. Only real negative at El Toreo is the guacamole–I like my guac chunky–they puree it. In all, I can’t speak for those that go to El Toreo when it is jam packed, but it’s always a good place to go for a late lunch.
