If you want retirement home BBQ, this is the place for you… we have had two experiences here. The first experience was take out and we got the dinner for two. The portion was barely enough for one, the brisket was dry, and the pulled pork was mushy and flavorless. Thinking the stingy portions and flavorless food might be a fluke, we thought we would give it another chance. Mistake. The menu advertises Coors beer, but the server brought Coors Light. After having to explain multiple times that Coors Light is not the same as regular Coors, the mistake was corrected. But the food. The food was again flavorless and the pork mushy. Just how do you make pulled pork mushy? The pulled pork nachos are a large portion, but the mushy meat made them just so-so. We will not return. What a disappointment.
Great pulled pork and the beef brisket has the right flavor, BUT…the bbq sauces that are on the tables in the restaurant are not rotated. I happened to notice bubbles in the mild sauce and then the sweet heat, and even the hot sauce. The only one that I noticed didn’t have these bubbles was the sweet sauce. If it were just bubbles, I would consider it possibly an ingredient that is in the sauce but when you take the lid off and smell the sauce it smells like beer. The sauces are definitely fermenting. Please know that I have been involved in the bbq industry since 1985 and I know food. The restaurant, concept, and even the meats are fantastic. Even the cornbread is unique and tasty but the sauce is not addressed correctly. Please be careful and if anyone else notices then please say something so this can be addressed and possibly prevent an issue.
