Finally made the trip to Mimi’s, first time, since it opened. Well, apparently we should’ve come after it opened, since we heard great things about the food there. Today’s experience there, will be a one time event, proof we should’ve heeded previous reviews. At a $10 charge for a sandwich, one should expect more than two slices of meat. I’m serious, two slices. I ordered the reuben, and DH had turkey on toasted sourdough. My sandwich, although almost tasty, was a mound of Cole Slaw to disguise the puny meat portion, and DH stated his was also okay but the bottom slice of sourdough sat on the plate after toasting, it developed the dreaded mush-making toast sweat, it couldn’t be called toast anymore, accompanied by the pair of turkey pieces. It’s a shame as I had higher hopes for Mimi’s and wanted to enjoy our time there. Our server, Shawna, was hospitable, quick and efficient, and deserves better plates to present. I was trying to understand the formula, location, landscaping, interior decor etc. Even the bus boy had a bow tie on for crying out loud, maybe its me, but shouldn’t I anticipate an actual sandwich, for the ten bucks? I mean, at least on par with something I would make myself at home. Note to management: if the money is the issue you could cut back on costs by 1) eliminating waste 2)reconfigure your food ordering to avoid spoiling or 3) trim down labor cost since it seemed pretty slow to me for all those employees…but if this is what everyone will be served, they’ll (like us) won’t be returning anytime soon.
No go!. I have been several times and each time the service is extremely slow…taking at least an hour to have lunch served. But the last visit takes the cake…a couple next to us on the patio put the plates from the restaurant down and allowed their two dogs to lick the plates clean. No one working at the restaurant seem to have a problem, even when I let management know what had happened. I love my dogs…but not licking off the plates I will eat on next. NO MORE.
Terrible. Slow service, then bread was burned on outside & cold on the inside. We ordered the Filet and Pork Chops. The cuts of meat looked like they came from Waffle House, and the veggies looked pathetic. First time in years that I have sent my meal back and refused to be cooked something else. Really disappointing.
Excellent. We have gone there several times, twice in a large group and have been very satisfied with service and the food. Only complaint, sometimes it is a bit noisy with people talking, especially when crowded.Ed Wilkie
The restaurant had a weird smell. The food is similar to shoney’s with better decoration.Service is ok.
