We had a wonderful time with our friends on my husband’s birthday. The chef accommodated our friend’s request of a variation of one of the specials. After dinner the waiter brought out a piece of chocolate cake with a lit candle. We have never had a bad experience.
Wait for it!. Full disclosure: the food was excellent. But as we waited…and waited…and waited!!! for it to be served, I finally had to visit the rest room. Wouldn’t you know? The food runner choose just then to deliver our meals and by the time I returned my $32 filet was stone cold (which suggests it wasn’t too warm when it finally made it to our table in the first place). I mentioned the food temperature to our server but got no response. We had a reservation but had to cool our heels, anyway, waiting for a table. We were finally shown to a two-top right next to the bar and directly under an air conditioning vent so climate control was an issue. We put our food order in with our drink order because our server warned us the kitchen was backed up and he wasn’t kidding. It was my birthday and when my husband made our reservation he had asked if they do anything special for birthday guests.The hostess told him they bring a piece of cake with a candle in it and he requested they do that for me. This was supposed to be a surprise and my husband sure WAS surprised: I just happened to order the chocolate wonder cake for dessert and when it arrived there was no candle, despite my husband telling our server three times that we were celebrating my birthday. AND of course we were charged for it. That’s OK, but don’t tell folks you’ll do something special for a special occasion if you aren’t going to. Our server finally wished me a happy birthday when he saw my husband calculating the gratuity. As we walked out neither person at the hostess stand bothered to thank us for our patronage. That’s okay, too–they’ll never have to be bothered by us again. Note to self-aggrandizing award winning restaurants, it your service is going to stink on a particular evening and you admit it (the excuse on this occasion was a big retirement party) do something to try to make up for it, like bring a piece of free cake you promised anyway! Or put a candle in the cake you are charging for! Bottom line, Sky isn’t rated high in my estimation based on this experience, except, of course for the prices.
Disappointed. Sky was recommended by a friend and we looked forward to the experience. While the service was outstanding, I must say that 3 of the 4 in our party were disappointed. The lettuce wrap appetizer was wonderful, and even though main courses were prepared individually, the orange chicken was like fast food I had the Korean red chili beef and found it lacking spice with undercooked vegetables. Overall the experience was less than we hoped for.
I came into this restaurant because it was highly recommended and after my experience I realized why. I often dine in top tier restaurants and sky is one to be remembered. Their unique take on asian cuisine provides a multitude of taste that can please anyones palate. They also vary their dishes with intensity of heat and even the hottest dishes do not compromise on taste. My party was rather large and the management staff worked well to accommodate us and were very respectful and nice despite our extraneous demands. We also had a gluten intolerant in our group which the manager personally made sure her order was Prepared correctly. Overall the food was great and the staff and manager were more than helpful. Aside from that I can also say sky gives you an experience like no other with the Ambiance and view it provides. Overall it is a novelty to be had in ocala.
Only choice in Ocala!. Each time I drive through Ocala, I can’t help but stop for a great meal from the best restaurant in town. From the phenomenal service to the unique, delicious food, SKY Asian Fusion easily tops any restaurant in town.
This place is awesome from the atmosphere to the food. I have never had a bad experience.
Great restaurant! Prices, service and quality of food are great. Definitely recommend trying it!
