Terrible service. I went a few weeks ago, and the service was awful! We sat down at a regular table (not hibachi), and it took 5 minutes to be acknowledged to order a drink. Our server dropped off our drinks and walked off. We didn’t get to order food for another 10 minutes. My friend’s food (teriyaki chicken and a shrimp sushi roll) came 10-15 minutes before my 2 sushi rolls. No apology or anything was made for my food taking so long. We asked our server for our check when my food came, but we eventually had to go to the hostess desk to go get it. I will not go back for the food because the service was so bad. And we were only 2 people in the place of maybe 2 other tables of 2 and 2 small hibachi groups! Very unhappy with this dining experience.
Horrible. Tacky decor, run down, and horrible food. they wraped asparagus in rolls
Average. The house clear soup had a ‘been in the refrigerator and reheated’ flavor. The shrimp lunch bowl was good and the shrimp tasted good/fresh. The fried rice was a little dry but the flavor was OK. The veggies in the bowel were cooked perfect and not over or under done. Overall OK but a little oily and I wish they had more shrimp in the bowl. Service was good but the place was almost empty. I may go back.
Just putting this out there for everyone. This place is NOT open on Saturdays for some reason? Found this out the hard way by trying to go there for lunch one day only to find that it is closed. This was shocking seeing as how most other surrounding hibachi restaurants were open. While this was very annoying and we had to find someplace else too eat, while we sat in the parking lot at least 2-5 other people pulled in hoping to get lunch only to find it was closed as well. So it wasn’t just us? I mean come on, really?, who’s closed for lunch and dinner on a random Saturday? It just doesn’t make sense.
Just Okay. Since Yamatos closed, I’ve been here a few times for sushi instead. Everyone at the hibachi tables seem to be having fun, but everyone in the main dining room always seems to be waiting for service. I know that’s been the case every time I’ve been there. This last time, we had to wait a loooonnnng time for attention from our waitress (who wasn’t friendly or helpful). We were never approached for refills or additional sushi orders. We waited another looooonnng time for our check. The sushi itself is nothing special at all. It’s just okay — and since I love sushi, that makes me sad. I also dislike how there aren’t any descriptions of the various rolls on the menu. There are lot of them to choose from, and you simply have to take your chances. Good luck getting help from a waiter/tress as you make your selections. I’ll probably end up going back at some point, given the scarcity of sushi choices on this side of town, but I can’t recommend it to others.
I work in the service industry myself, and I try to be as understanding and patient as possible. However, this was by far my worst dining experience. The water had a dirty taste, and I could not take more than 2 sips of it. The miso soup was luke-warm, and our waiter awkwardly examined mine and my friend’s sushi in front of us for a few minutes trying to figure out which roll was which. Our sushi was not bad, but we finished quickly and ended up waiting over 30 minutes to pay. After about 10 our server said he was very busy and would bring our check soon, but he walked by our table over and over again helping other customers. After 30 minutes we gave up and told the ladies at the hostess stand that we were leaving and our money was on the table. I’ve never had to do something like that, but there weren’t really any positives about this restaurant. I love sushi, but I will never return to this place.
Yummy. The four of us are from Michigan, Illinois, and Nevada. We found this place while surfing on line and decided to try it (great choice on our part). The. Service was great, and the people were very friendly. We all had sushi and hibachi. The food was awesome! We will visit it again this trip.
