I’ve been here several times and the experience is consistently pleasant. Good service, nice atmosphere, good crowd and also kid friendly. The hogfish sandwich is excellent and so is the coleslaw, the calamari and pretty much everything. They do things a little differently in that there is an island flare to the food so many of the items have a jerk spice or something like that. For instance, the greens are not your typical collards or mustard greens but have some heat to them. Good selection of beer and wine and signature cocktails.
Great rehearsal dinner. Fantastic location, private dining, room, impeccable service, and great food! Management worked with us to provide a great menu for our 30+ guests, provided 2 dedicated servers, and knocked it out of the park for our rehearsal dinner. I highly recommend them or any of the other BayStar Restaurant Group restaurants.
Not a fan of Rumba! I just ate diner there tonight and I have never sent back a meal until tonight. I ordered their Salmon Crouquetts…it tasted like liquid smoke and was sour tasting. Waiter was great and brought me a salmon sandwich which was eatable but nothing exceptional. Also ordered a bad appetizer-Oyseter with baked cheese on top. Well they did not warn that they were sitting on rock salt pellets which I got a mouthful of and totally lost my appitite! Everything tasted terrible. I don’t recommend and will never go back! I hope the chef eats these dishes they serve…worst diner I ever ate!
Stopped in for a quick lunch today. First time visit food was great, the service staff was very attentive, the manager stopped by to check on us as well, she was very personable and informative as it was our first time, we will definitely be back.
Great prices!. Service was excellent and a variety of food at low prices is offered. my buddies and I from work stop in here about once a week and always have had great experiences. my one complaint would have to be the hostess..she is stuck outside in the heat on her own. i did not understand why she needed to be placed there. i felt horrible for her as she looked like she was about to faint!!! too hot for that in florida. nobody was even eating outside so it just looked unnecessary and out of place for her to be there. do not understand why they can’t place it inside. i even heard a customer sitting at the bar make a comment to the host about how hot it was and why she was outside. maybe something management should rethink, but maybe im just being picky. other than that, i would recommend this place to anyone for all sorts of occasions!
Went during tourist season on a Wednesday night. Our party had 14. Service was great and the food was good. My mahi, mahi sandwich was tasty as well as the curly fries. Cornbread muffins were warm and yummy.
I came in with a couple of friends on a Saturday night and the environment was wonderful! Our server was Lisa and she genuinely cared about our stay there and gave great service. I ordered the hogfish to try something new and it was great!
