Brought a friend with me and the ramen was poor. Noodles were under cooked, the pork was mostly fat, and the broth under seasoned. Chicken Katsu curry looked and tasted like a golden curry box mix. I tried just letting the waitress know in case there was something wrong in the back kitchen and they could work on it so that no one else had the same experience.I was pretty polite about it, but the chef came out, blamed it on us and our taste. Brags about how it was a five star establishment and how they fed 200 people that day so we much be crazy.I brought up that I was just letting him know in case this was just an odd ball, that I wasn’t blaming him.The fact that he kept antagonizing us and blaming us instantly made this place one I never want to go to again. Too bad it couldn’t taste as good as it looks.( Note, my friend is from Korea, and the chef bragging about how he is from Korea and the food they serve there was pretty funny to him. We wouldn’t care if you’re just having an off day, or if you ‘Americanized’ it, just be honest about it. xD )
We were visiting from out of town and our friends brought us here as they promised it’s the best in town. It was great. Everything tasted awesome. There was a long wait when we came in. It was worth it. Definitely give this place a go.
Great find in Orlando while visiting. I had the spicy ramen and my friend had the tonkatsu. It wasn’t too spicy and the pork was delicious. I just wish there was morebok choy in mine. I only had one piece. We also had egg rolls and tako yaki, which were both very good. I would come back again.
Great find in Chinatown in Orlando. Place is busy on Saturday and Sunday’s since it’s a small restaurant the table turnover prevents a fast eating experience. Don’t let this deter you from eating here since the food is amazing. The tempura chicken is so juicy and delicious. The spicy miso soup was delectable and and of course with an add on of chicken. Don’t pass the opportunity to eat here and enjoy a true artist performing his passion.
This place is AWESOME! I am half-Japanese, so I grew up eating authentic Japanese home cooking, I grew up in Japan, and I lived and worked in Japan for two years as an adult. This is Japanese down home cooking at its best. My mother loves this place and she is a picky eater. She insists on eating here every time she visits. Coming from Okinawa Prefecture in the south, I really enjoy that they have tonkotsu (pork bone) broth. Although many Japanese even find the odor of tonkotsu ramen too pungent, I really enjoy it’s richness. I also love the side dishes, especially the takoyaki, my favorite Japanese street food (deep fried chunks of octopus) and the vegetable croquets (although they have transliterated it from the Japanese korokke on the menu). In my opinion, this is the only truly authentic Japanese restaurant in the Orlando area.
Well let me start off by saying I’ve never had any Ramen aside from the noodles we all ate when we were in college so I can’t say how authentic it is BUT my friend who’s Japanese highly recommended this place so I’ll take his word on it. What I DO know is the Ramen I had was insanely good! I chose the Shoyu and had an egg roll with it. Large portion and the Ramen itself was only $9. This will be a spot I visit every time I come to Orlando.
Saw the good reviews of this place and finally got around to stopping in. I was not disappointed! Location is VERY unassuming. In a pretty run down shopping center. While clean on the inside, the shop is very plain and basic. You aren’t served like a normal restaurant either, you order at the back counter and they will bring it to you. You also will get your own water and bus your own table. But really you do not go there for service. You come for the food!Very authentic tasting food that will really make you happy. I had the Shoyu Ramen which has the punch you in the face pork broth (in a good way). Egg based ramen noodle balanced it out. My wife was EHH about what I ordered, but went for the Miso. She loved it. The Egg rolls were great, rice ball on point too. Also I tried Mochi for the first time in my life there. I really liked it, though I have nothing to compare it to. With all this, the food is CHEAP!!! Bowls are around 9 bucks, and sides range from 1 dollar to 2. I will be back for sure.
