Hull’s is nothing fancy but when you see a lot of locals, you know it is good. We stopped by twice. The 1st time it was just my husband and myself. The fish tacos, spicy fish chowder and crab gumbo were delicious. The next time our son and his family were with us. The crab was great. The freshness of the seafood can’t be beat. Would we come again – absolutely.
Just go. You’ll like it.. Great spot, famous with the tourists and locals alike. Ask them what has been fresh caught, or order a stand-by like salmon — it’s all good. Good fish, good sides. Get an extra order of hush puppies, even though you’ll get a couple with your meal. You have to eat out at the sidewalk bar in front at least once. The line and menu can be tricky and chaotic to figure out on first visit, since people feed into the line from the front door AND the back door, but it all sorts itself out. The counter people are more than patient, having had to explain it all a million times. Just don’t be in a hurry. If you order iced tea, you can refill it before you leave.
Just what you want. Outstanding variety and freshness. Everything is cooked just right; they don’t color outside the lines creativity-wise, they just deliver high level seafood in a market atmosphere that is void of pretension. Not the most seasoned seafood, but also not greasy and vegatables/sides are also cooked with ingredient fidelity at the forefront. Good and efficient service. Prices are validated in the food quality.
Beyond Ridiculous Prices. Near the ocean, yet sky high prices for fish caught locally. Never seen worse.
I am just finishing dinner at hulls and couldn’t wait to write a review. I LOVE walking into a locally owned establishment at the beach and seeing fresh fish on the menu that was caught on their boat!!! I had the blackened Tile with fresh squash, red potatoes and hush puppies. It was so so delicious. This was the best fish we’d had during our visit to the beach this week. We ordered home made key lime pie to go and can’t wait to make this a regular stop for future beach trips. YUM!!!
Delicious. Excellent steamed shrimp with old bay. Fried flounder and shrimp always delicious! We eat here several times on every trip to the beach.
The real deal. One thing I have learned, always check out a seafood restaurant when they have a market next it. Hull’s seafood is always a spot we hit as we make our trip to Daytona a few times a year. Fresh blackened fish sandwiches, cracked conch, the best conch fritters, crab cakes,everything is great. We usually take a few pounds of stone crabs with us back to apartment with that amazing mustard sauce when in season… You cant go wrong if you love seafood…
