Great Joint. Yes, it is a joint and is indeed a very good one. Food and service is always just fine, the beer is cold and the drinks healthy. Not The Poo-Poo Room at the Ritz, it’s a great example of a good old fish camp. Highly recommended by myself and many friends.For an exciting and educational experience take an airboat ride, Whooweee!

EMPTY RESTAURANT HOUR WAIT. I don’t typically write reviews in fact this is my first…when we walked into the restaurant there were about 20 booths open maybe more but the waitress told us there would be an hour + wait. we thought she was joking (it was just me and one other person to eat). the hostess told us the chef was backed up from large parties that came in (we saw tables no larger than 7 people). so she told us to go to the bar and get some finger foods. when we tried to do that, the waitress at the bar told us it would be 45 minutes to even get finger foods. we never even got to eat there.
The best ramp. When i was growing up i fished lake jessup and even on a bad day when i loaded that boat and walked threw them doors that buffalo gator mad the trip worth it.and never seen an unpleasnt worker there.the fishing was incredible but the eating was even better.thanks yall.
It’s awesome. Everyone I’ve seen complaining about this place doesn’t seem to have a clue. It’s a old Florida fish camp; don’t order chicken, don’t order cod, ask what’s fresh and get it. It’s a Central Florida institution with a lot of character in a cool setting. It ain’t Applebee’s, it ain’t Luma, it’s Black Hammock.
I dined ay Black Hammock on St. Patty’s Day 2012. It is a neat place on Lake Jessup in Oveido. It was a slow wait for our food. It was very good after the food arrived. The griled mahi wrap was worth the wait. We road on the airboats after dining and had a nice time seeing the alligators and diiferent birds.
