We took another couple out to this restaurant in September. When the charge slip came the waiter told us they had accidentally split it into two separate charges. However I noted that one of those was on someone else’s Visa card. I pointed this out to the waiter who took the two slips back and returned with the entire charge on my Amex. When my bill came from Amex I saw that they had put through both the full charge and the half charge. We went to the restaurant but they refused to discuss it. Their managers continue to blow us off and won’t cooperate with American Express. Unfortunate because we liked the restaurant and ate there often. Lost a customer over a $46 erroneous charge that they refuse to acknowledge.UPDATE: I wrote a letter to the owner a couple of weeks ago, expressing my concern not only over the money but also that resolving it would allow us to return to a restaurant we had previously enjoyed. Today received a check for the $46. He did the right thing – and we’ll be back. Upgrading the restaurant back to 4 stars.
