Looking over the menu, I thought I might have finally found the holy grail: great dim sum in Florida. While what arrived was good, it was not better than Toa Toa or Tropical Chinese. Remarkably, they did have fresh long xioa bao (soup dumplings) which were the best I’ve had in this state, but the other dishes were unexceptional. The shiu mai, steamed pork buns, pot stickers, wonton soup were all recommendable. But the fried shrimp wonton, fried shrimp balls, stuffed crab claws and shrimp stuffed eggplant suffered from the same poor master recipe. Too much egg or filler and under seasoned. The crab tasted off and the claw meat was a dull grey. The eggplant itself was without crisp edges and languished in a watered-down sauce. The coconut pudding was a dissapontment and tasted strangly freezer burnt. The sponge cake was not chiffon-like at all. The scallop dumplings should be skipped. The restaurant is clean, open and bright. Our tab for a party of three was $105 making it the most expensive of any of the dim sum restaurants we frequent.

Yikes. Well,Called ahead to check on the lunch specials, only to travel out of my way to have the ‘Boss’ decide he would not honor the 3 PM special(I was early by 10 minutes).Rather than tell me directly, he tried to seat me and charge me more. The ‘waitress’ played dumb and said ‘He’s the boss’.What a wonderful experience for a customer who ‘used’ to frequent the place.I knew the food quality had been slipping, but this treatment was rude and unnecessary……Truly a dishonorable business.Avoid.
