Overpriced. Used too much parsley and chives. Had to ask for bread and water. Overall staff not very accommodating. If you are looking to spend this money go to the capital grill. Better food better service.

Always Good. I take my family here write often and we’ve always had a good meal. The best stuff on the menu is the filet and the prime rib. Substitute the mac and cheese for the mashed potatoes. Get the carrot cake for dessert. You won’t be sorry

Second Time Badly Treated Here. Tonight, I was there & ordered a Thai Kai salad, which I’ve ordered before. While everyone else got their meal on time, I got mine 2 minutes later & it was sitting on the table behind me the whole time. They brought it to me with NO DRESSING. What restaurant does that? I sent it back & they brought me a new one the way it should be, but the waitress had an attitude. The previous time I was there, I ordered a steak Well Done. They brought it to me burnt on the outside & UNCOOKED on the inside. I sent it back to be cooked & received it RARE. I give this restaurant 2.75 stars out of 5. In other words, don’t go there.

Good food and prompt service. We enjoyed our visit to J. Alexander’s, went here on a date night and had reservations. The ambiance is very nice but with the open kitchen it can be a little loud and distracting if you are near seated near it. The service was prompt and friendly, only hang-ups were that the waitress asked if we wanted to try some of their creamy horseradish sauce with our filet’s so we said yes, but both orders were served without. All of the food was really tasty, except for their Barnaise sauce which I could have done without and glad it came on the side. Oddly enough we ordered two filet dinners and one came out whole and the other came out cut in half, which you can see in the photos. The Mexico City Spinach con Queso dip was really good. Would go back again, maybe sit in one of their bar area’s as they have two, one at the front indoors and the other out on their covered patio around back.

Went in about 6 pm on Friday night only a 15 minute wait. Got drinks at bar – generous pour with wine and very refreshing Mojitos. Menu is very similar to Houston’s ( a Hillstone restaurant). The ribs fell off the bone! The veggie specials were great too – we had an orzo salad and sweet corn.

Very good food and reasonable prices. It was very loud inside so we sat on the patio. Service excellent also. We had a great time.
