Located in the same building as Gander Mountain with both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is really appealing and has that cabin or lodge (wilderness) type of vibe. There is a pretty large bar area with plenty of specials. The price point at this location is probably higher than most due to the variety of wild game on the menu but there are some unique offerings. Didn’t get a chance to try the food but service was really friendly at the bar, this is a good place for your significant other to hang out while you are shopping for stuff they may not be interested in. The demographics for this location were mixed and most seemed to be enjoying the outdoor patio area. Would be a nice place to meet for a drink or even after a hunt.
BAD night MANAGER!November 9 of 2015, with a companion, we decided to try Tall Tales restaurant for its unusual (in the area) menu and design. In recent years, I have been aware of it but did not explore it due to the apparent lack of patrons. I hoped it would be as good as TED’S (Turner) on west 51 ST NYC.Our waitress at TALE TAILS was articulate and helpful, explaining the unusual menu choices. She had a professional and cheerful demeanor. We ordered and waited to be served. At 8:20 PM, a man walked up to our table and without introducing himself, announced that they were closing at 9:30 PM. With that he walked away. The restaurant was not busy. In addition to our table, one family of five occupied a nearby table and two people were at the bar. So, I called the waitress over to ask who was that man and why (we) were told that the restaurant would close in one hour and ten minutes. She explained that she did not know why but that person is the manager.Our meals arrived soon enough and food was good. But as we were dining, the manager could be seen turning off lights around the wall display of fish. Soon after, he turned off the lights near our table. Making it darker. As he passed our table, I asked why he was turning off the lights while customers were still dining at only 8:40 PM, With an air of disregard for customer service, he said it was only the Christmas lights. Then I asked why he had turned-off the other lights while we were still dining. Again, his demeanor was as if he hated his job and showed misdirected hostility toward the customers. It was insulting.Until this manager acted a he did, I had planning to recommend Tall Tales to my friends. Now, I would not. The owner needs to learn that manager is destroying this restaurant’s customer relations and its business. I feel sorry for the next customers and the employees of Tall Tails.

The food was maybe a little above average, but her sincere enthusiasm made this family gathering one we’ll talk about for years to come! Thank you Janet 🙂
