Great Southern Food!. This little hole in the wall has great traditional southern cooking. The fried chicken is to die for and the black eyed peas and fried okra are tasty sides. Great variety on the menu and they serve beer and wine. Check out the chalk board for some delicious desserts. Service is exceptional and prompt. Well worth it for the money. Not ideal for children since the dining room is small.
Best Fried Chicken in Town!!. I just have to rave about the fried chicken. It was so absolutely scrumptious! It was well-coated and well-seasoned, and the flavor went all the way to the bone. It was both tender AND juicy, which is important. There is nothing worse than dry-ass chicken, but that is not what you will get here. Flavorful is the outcome to expect when you start with good, fresh chicken pieces, and they do. This is NOT chicken from the supermarket! It is made to order, not sitting under a heat lamp, so expect to wait 15-20 minutes for your meal, but trust me, it is more than worth the wait. You can kill the time by sampling their fried green tomatoes, or blackened catfish bites. The seasoning on the tomatoes is just right, not overpowering the tomato yet not so weak as to be unnoticed.Love the mac n cheese and the crispy corn fritters. Everyone I dined with loved their sides. The sweet potato had a slight tang, but other than that, delish. It is a smallish dining room that sometimes gets crowded, especially on the weekends, so if you have a huge party expect to wait a bit to get seated. My husband and I drove from almost Hudson to get there, but it was well worth the drive and we will return!
Good ole down home food. First time experience the other evening. Fried chicken (all white meat) a small Greek salad that was a perfect balance of seasoning and cheese, homemade mashed potatoes with a side of delicious white gravy. All was superb. Chicken cooked nicely, moist, flavorful, breading was nice and lite, not heavy..mashed potatoes obviously homemade and perfect…Server was very personable although a little forgetful and asked twice if she should bring bread out first…overall a good experience that I would recommend hands down.
The best fried chicken in the area. Great shrimp and grits.
As a born & raised Palm Harbor native, I adore this small restaurant. Authentic Southern food is served in a cozy setting; the shrimp & grits and chicken & waffles are a must. Fried green tomatoes are a perfect starter. What a great local place!
Magnolia Grille. We had the best fried green tomatoes EVER!! Followed up with the Magnolia Signature Salad and managed to stuff in some coconut cream pie. Yum Yum.
Comfort Food. We liked the service at the Magnolia Grill, friendly and attentive. The dining room is clean and comfortable well suited to the type of food served here.My husband was served an enormous plate of fried chicken which he pronouced deliish. My catfish was very good, and both a bargain. We split a side order of fried mac and cheese, which was perfect. We like the Grill very much especially since it’s nearly right on the pinnelas trail, so walking or biking is very easy, nice on a cooler evening. I recomend the Grille if you are looking for good, unpretenious southern food.
