Outstanding place to eat. I only give five stars when the place blows me away. Food was outstanding- had the grouper sandwich. Wow. Beer excellent, service was top notch. Prices very reasonable. Location right on the west side of the bay and right on the water. Restroom for men was so nice and large that I worried I had walked into the women’s room! You need to park out on the street to park for free, but wow was this good.
Never received my order. We showed up at about 1 in the afternoon placed our order at 130 in the afternoon at 3 we still hadn’t received our food or even our appetizers then I watched a table near us that sat down at 230 get their app and meal before us so we left without ever receiving our meal. I’ve never had such an awefull experience
Tonight, my family and I had dinner at Hula Bay. I have worked in the industry for years and I must say that our experience was FAR from exceptional. We’re were seated within 20 minutes. We placed our order(no cocktails, no apps), it took over 50 minutes to receive our entrees. Dinners came and certainly did not meet our expectations. The server was clearly busy, but was very personable and apologetic. Almost everything was over-cooked. We talked with a manager and he was clearly not fit for the role. He told us that the kitchen wouldn’t see the ticket for 30 minutes and that they had 1000 tickets back there. He was clearly not qualified, and we weren’t looking for an excuse. The restaurant evidently has staffing issues that need to be addressed. Sub-par experience overall tonight. It’s unfortunate because I love the venue and have had good experiences there before.
Great food.. Restroom not so good.. My boyfriend and I are visiting Tampa this weekend and he found this restaurant. We both enjoyed the food and service. I was very surprised when I went to the restroom and there was a woman standing by the sink making comments about how she just found 6.00 in her wallet and now she could buy her baby some milk. I didn’t realize until then that she worked there and was fishing for tips as I then saw a tip jar on the counter. It’s a nice touch to have someone in the restroom have hand towels laid out for you, but I could’ve done without her talking about her overdrawn account and buying her baby milk. Really uncomfortable!
Food was okay but overpriced. The water view was wonderful but not worth going back for with the underwhelming food. Service was courteous but not attentive.
Horrible service, had to wait to eat appetizers because server never gave us utensils or napkins. Waited 10 minutes to get a refill of my drink, forced to drink water while I ate. My wife never got a refill, we only saw our server ONCE, and that was when he literally dropped my drink off at the table and continued on his way. Never saw a drink menu either. Sent an email about our experience, and have yet to hear back, so I’m taking that as they just don’t care. Food is ok, view is great, but both lose their luster when service is bad.
Not worth the price. 45 min wait to get a table . Slow ticket times so 45 min to get our food. Then the cook the fish to death. Dry dry dry fish. No taste. How can you cook the moisture out of something that lives in the ocean .
