PDQ – Not Quite Chik-Fil-A. As for chicken sandwiches, PDQ is great. Compared to Chik-Fil-A, I have to give the winner to CFA. This is personal preference only. You make like the opposite. But for chicken, both are good.
Nutritional Mystery. I went to the website to get nutritional facts…nothing…I called the restaurant and the manager didn’t know….He gave me the corporate office phone number >> it’s an accounting/consulting firm and they know nothing about the restaurant business ….Called the restaurant manger back and the store was too noisy for him to hear me…….With my family’s dietary needs (usual stuff – some blood sugar issues, children, etc) I want to trust you before I step in the door. And from the response, we won’t be there this evening.
It is no Chic fil a. It was just not good, and is no where near the quality and deliciousness of the Chic fil a.
Great place, OPEN ON SUNDAY!!!. Finally a good chicken sandwich for sundays when i crave CFA… but it’s also good the other 6 days of the week, food is prompt, service is great…. tonight i pulled a 6 y/o move and spilled my drink and they promptly replaced my food after seeing what i had done… everyone here is friendly and polite…..but i always wonder about the big cans of pineapple when i dont see anything that contains pineapple… maybe there is a super secret pineapple shake.
Not my dill.. Pickles, dill and everything between is not to my liking. Most people say pickles are the icing on the sandwich. I can’t stand it, and apparently with PDQ, I can’t get away from it. There is small bit of dill in the breading mix, a huge no,no if you don’t like pickles. It is hard to believe a commercial chef couldn’t communicate that to the owners, or vice versa. The process of chicken meat itself is of good quality. There seems to be less fatty tissue (non-at-large) when compared to chic-fil-a. Also the chicken is cooked through, much better than any chic-fil-a. The egg bread is nice, not a quantum leap over chic-fil-a though. The fries are a mess, they don’t taste bad, just sloppy act as a filler. Yeah it suppose to be a side, but this should be exciting, but not exotic given this style of restaurant. Sides are a critical part of ‘value’ in a meal. It is obvious PDQ doesn’t take pride in cut, or potato selections. Again, I would have blasted the commercial chef on this one.Service. Bad. Like the youngsters at chic-fil-a and other quick stop eateries, you can’t stop at good training just for typical scenarios. There should be an automatic response if something is wrong, like the reaction when returning a chicken sandwich (twice I may add). In my case, (2) free people at/near the counter who looked at me, didn’t respond at all, in fact after servicing other customers, the 3rd person (cashier) helped me out. Teamwork is vital in a restaurant. If PDQ wants to be ‘Pretty Darn Good’ too, they should look at how In-N-Out Burger manages their team. These teams are nearly the same age bracket PDQ employs and in the same industry. If busy OR not, In-N-Out Burger employees clean. If they don’t clean, they check on tables and take notice of any (real-time) mess on a patron’s table, no service, they clean and re-clean the clean…they don’t stop. But they are also paid well, and seem happy, they don’t look bored or miserable. Owners, please Fly to California and observe a In-N-Out. They are simple, unique but not exotic, great products, and with excellent service. Trust me, it will blow away all these chains in the Southeast.I think PDQ has a ‘vanilla’ image concept, overall its branding its moving closer to (newer) Dairy Queen’s I’ve seen out there. They need to re flash their image soon…otherwise it going to seem visually similar like every other chain. Otherwise its a pleasant atmosphere, the self serving condiments and soda units are nice.Ugh, PDQ, those fries. Do something, you got time.
Excellent for fast food. The chicken tenders are great everytime, and the sweet heat sauce makes them even better. Additionally, their salads are by far the best fast food salads out there. The friendly service is a bonus.
Great spot for fast food. Menu is small and all they serve is chicken as far as a meat goes. Grilled, crispy chicken sandwiches. Also have good tenders. Hand cut fries and blueberry coleslaw are great as well. Hand washing station in the middle of the restaurant gives it a nice touch!! Will come back!!
