Great little sushi spot!!! Ipeobably some of the most fresh fish I’ve eaten!!! Nom nom nom!!! Excellent service!! Great drinks!!!
I really wanted to like this place it’s right next door to my house. I’ve given it several chances. The owner has been snooty and almost arrogant, although his staff is very friendly. The flame scorched roll was literally black on top, almost un edible. If your looking for good sushi take the 6.3 mile drive to samurai blue.
Best Sushi & More in Tampa. Love this place! Great owners, great staff, great food, great atmosphere. There is no better sushi in Tampa, and they have a lot of other great dishes on the menu. Very well run. One of my favorites in Tampa.
Skip it – Go to Yokos. I’ve tried this place several times hoping that it would get better. It’s very conveniently located to my house, but unfortunately Yoko’s is worth the longer drive. The fish is fishy smelling and fishy tasting (tuna, not salmon), and not worth the prices. Best sushi in town is Samurai Blue, however, for decently priced sushi go to Yoko’s or Soho Sushi. Both blow this place away.
Decent Sushi, Great Atmosphere. Sakana has a great, relaxed lounge vibe without the pretention. The service is wonderful and the price is pretty average for most rolls. – $7 to $10. I also am very happy with their sake list, which offers some varieties that I cannot get elsewhere. Their rolls are creative, but not always successful. Highlights are their lobster roll and the Chef’s roll. Keep away from the Sunshine roll, whose flavor combos just didn’t seem to gel well. For the most part, however, this is a good go-to sushi joint if you dont want to leave the So Tampa area.
Best Sushi in Tampa. I have eaten great Sushi from LA to London and never been to a better sushi place than Sakana. My father and I go there weekly and love the TGIF roll. I have never seen it anywhere else as good. We love Joe, the owner, and his tempura fried cheesecake…. after eating healthy, we deserve it! Cool place, hip, good wine by the glass for my dad, and great staff!
The sushi is great. Let Eric do what he does best at the sushi bar. I let him pick my 3 dishes and he did not steer me wrong. The tuna bowl is great especially of you are a fan of spicy.
