This place is great! A small, farm-to-table style diner that cooks your seafood and chops your veggies right in front of you. Produce is bought right down the road at the market. The grouper Reuben blew me away. A must eat for those around the interbay!
Fresh local seafood. Southern Seafood impressed me during a recent lunch visit with one amazing fried grouper sandwich ($13.99). The fish at Southern Seafood is sourced locally and available for sale with prices ranging from $10-$20 a pound. The quality of the local fish is really the seller though and when you have fresh shrimp, you really realize just how bad the shrimp you have been eating at restaurants around town is. I first heard about Southern Seafood from co-owner Pete during a tasting at his bar & restaurant in SoHo called Pete’s Place. He said he was sick of seafood being shipped from around the world when we have great seafood right here in Tampa Bay and after tasting the grouper – I completely agree. Give it a shot. It’s certainly a place you have to try to believe. carloseats.com
