Decided to try the smoke shack for lunch the other day and while it was good, I wouldn’t say it was the best BBQ in Tampa. My sweet hubby and I had the pulled pork platter. The pork was good but didn’t have a smokey smell or taste. Without the BBQ sauce it really didn’t have much flavor. We had the truffle Mac and cheese, BBQ beans, and greens for our sides. They were good, but again, nothing special. The Mac and cheese didnt have much of a truffle taste and the beans were ordinary but the greens were a nice surprise. There is limited seating. Only a single picnic table under a dilapidated building overhang. Glad we were in the area and didn’t make a special trip. The smoke shack is average at best.

Take it from a Texas native. This BBQ is the best in Tampa. Heard of this place through some friends and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of BBQ this place puts out. Darren let me sample almost everything on the menu last Sunday for a first time try and I ate so many samples I didn’t even have room for the meal I bought. Brisket is top notch, lean, with great sauce selection. Baked Beans are a must for any BBQ joint and they do not disappoint here. Smoked sausage was great as well. Highly recommend this place. Great food, great staff.

The Truffle Mac n Cheese….mouthwatering! The brisket….divine!!! I found my BBQ joint!!!! Best I’ve had in a long time!
AWESOME!. Stopped by on a late Sunday afternoon. The two gentlemen working were so accomodating and welcoming! The food was INCREDIBLE! Ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a side of the mac and cheese. While I was waiting, they gave me samples to try. I tasted the cole slaw, the baked beans and the collard greens…all were delicious! Will go back over and over again!
The smoke shack. The food is out of this world good. The owners are awesome and very friendly. i recommend any one to give them a try it is the best smoked food i have eatten here in tampa yet.
