I have never had a good experience after three different occasions with various friends/ family (tried to talk them out of it….) Each time the food was dry and bland. The place was dirty. I’d rather wait in line at Hunts next door or spend a pretty penny at The Shrimp Boat than waste my time and money here.
We had lunch the other day at the Captain’s Table it was five dollars more for the seafood platter than the cost of Hunts. the food was awful! I will not go back it was greasy. all batter and no fish it was bad! I am truly sorry that this restaurant has fallen to such a low standard save your money and go to Hunts I hope the owners read this do something about the poor quality
There is always a waiting line to get in so we went early last night (5 PM). Several tables were already occupied. As a local, my experience has shown Boon Docks to have the best fried shrimp in town. However the fried shrimp special I had last night at Captains Table was superior…the hush puppies as well. It’s not a fancy place, but the service was friendly and attentive and prices were reasonable. I used to eat here regularly several years ago, but had stopped going because of the wait times. That won’t keep me away after this experience.
