Staying with some friends in Panama Beach, FL. Wanted so good local seafood so I asked where the best seafood dive was. Less than a mile away was Gene’s Oyster Bar. $11 for a doz oysters on the half shucked at the bar directly in front of you, $15 for a huge bowl of blue crab claws soaked in garlic parmigian butter and a huge bowl of clam chowder for $6. Awesome, old school atmosphere with super friendly staff. Stuffed and happy. Going back tomorrow night for more.
This place is awesome if you want fresh oysters. They have a very small menu but all of it was excellent we had 4 dozen oysters and fried crab claws. If you are a foodie and love the hole in the wall type places then this is your place to go it’s been in the same place since 1930. I would highly recommend it to anyone one of my favorite places.
