This restaurant is in a great location as it is located right on the water beside the St. Andrew Marina where you can watch all the boats coming and going from the bay. This is also a prime spot to watch the sun set as the view was beautiful. The food was pretty good also. The crab cakes and scallops were amazing. They are kind of pricey but for the view and atmosphere I will be returning
I recently had an opportunity to eat at this restaurant in Panama City and truly enjoyed my food and my experience there. I notice that some of the reviews are not positive, but our experience and foodwere quite good.The grouper imperial was our favorite entre. Itis outstanding. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce and crab meat on top are a perfect addition. The sesame crusted tuna is also very good and beautifully prepared. It’s also not too spicy, one of my beefs with many tuna dishes. I like to taste the tuna. And we found the crab claw appetizer to be excellent. The claws are fried perfectly. All in all, a great meal.Downsideswere that we did not particularly like the soup that came along with the meal — a crab and vegetable type soup. It was an oddcombination to me. Although we had plenty of good food without the soup. Additionally, I would say the mojitococktails that we had were just ok, not a standout. And as some others have pointed out, the food is a bit pricey. Overall, though, a very nice experience and the grouper imperial dish is the way to go!
I have loved going to Uncle Ernie’s for the last 5 yrs. But, I will not back!! $27.99 for wilted salad, grilled scallops, that had no color what so ever, canned mushrooms & old yellow broccoli. I was so disappointed! It was my 60th bday too boot!! They gave us a free piece of cake. I am done with them!
Now when you get to Uncle Ernie’s and look at the place;you would think of getting your usual quick seafood dinners but it’s far from it . The food is great and believe me I know good food especially bring from Baton Rouge. Had the fried seafood platter with the grouper and my wife ordered the same but grilled. Scallops cooked perfectly,crab cake and shrimp on point. Drinks were great as well. The bonus is the beautiful sunset when you dine on the outside deck. The waitress was great and very attentive.
First the positive…service was amazing.But I must let you know of the entree…we ate half at dinner last night. Took the other half home in a black styro container in a plastic bag provided.Got home opened the bag and then styro container. Was going to heat our other half of dinner to enjoy.Lo and behold, an enormous cockroach as well as two small ones were revealed as we transferred the food from within the container to eat!Disgusting and unsanitary.Whether it was in the container or cooked into food that sat at the restaurant and was then reheated to serve…not impressive folks. Exterminate your kitchen/prep/walk-in areas.We will not return.
Enjoyed lunch today, or first time. Our server mentioned the luncheon specials, we ordered fried shrimp and fried oysters. Both were excellent, brought to our table hot. Really enjoyed the light ungreasy batter and freshness of the seafood. We are not locals but will back.
Service was good but slow. Good waiter. Good was mediocre and way over priced. $75 for two dinners was not a good deal. Would not go here again.
