Need to visit more for a better overview of this restaurant. Recently we went with friends. All were quite impressed with the ribs though portion size was a bit low while prices seemed high… They may be resting on their laurels… Instead of providing true hospitality. What do you expect from a highly popular beach front venue?
Food was pretty good, however, no flexibility with menu substitutions. Poor service. Bad attitudes from staff. Overall, not impressed and won’t come back.
On the beach….quite literally! At 9:00 PM the live music starts in the separate-detached bar area. The bar area features several frozen drinks by Fat Tuesday. The atmosphere was loud but friendly. Many children with parents were waiting for a dinner table (1:15 minute wait arriving at 8:20 PM). The chips/salsa/queso was okay but costs $12. The frozen drinks were good at $10 for 16oz with free souvenir cup. Live music was country. The service was fast and surprisingly GREAT considering the large crowd (thanks Tia) We were seated after an hour wait (as warned). We opted to eat outside on the covered pier-like section of the restaurant. The food was good but not great……way overpriced but the view made up the difference. Also, while in the restaurant area you cannot hear the bar area and the noise fades into the surf. I ordered fried oysters (an admitted weakness). 13 for $24 with no substitution options…..hush puppies are an additional $3. The tarter sauce and shrimp sauce are prepackaged Ken’s Steakhouse brand. They were small but not over cooked. I think the oysters, fries, and corn on the cob were all previously frozen………definitely not fresh. My daughter had the Caribbean Salad (featured in pic) and my wife got the seafood Cobb salad. The tomatoes and cucumbers were not fresh but they enjoyed the rest of their meal. Again, I must say the waitstaff was great! Fast and friendly service considering the sheer volume of people at this rather large restaurant, thanks Mayo! The location and service bring the score here up to a 3.0. My recommendation, come here for the view and order Rum Runner and a burger. Save your $$ for real / fresh seafood elsewhere and enjoy the outstanding view.
We went here basically looking for an alright meal with views of the water and sunset. WOW, what a nice surprise! Calamari appetizer was EXCELLENT!!! Staff very nice and helpful. Creole mahi mahi and fried mahi mahi were great! Also, my house salad was huge, fresh and perfect! Overall fun atmosphere and tasty food!
Lived up to the hype. Excellent signature ribs, the best I have EVER eaten, a must if you like bbq. Great service. Only negative is limited parking on site.
We are here one night during our stay for a late dinner. Average food but good service. If you are looking for s meal to remember look else where. Don’t sit near the railing outside at night you’ll have a light in your face the whole time. Guess it’s worth going to to say you’ve been but that’s about it.
Food was pretty darn good. Wish we could have got outside seating but just being able to eat was worth the wait. Very busy place. Wait was 1 and a half hours but they had a large bar/waiting area where you can purchase drinks and appetizers and listen to love music when they have it. We brought our 1 and 3 year old and they did fine in the waiting area.
