Cool place. Had to wait for a table for about 30 minutes, but I’d probably be okay to wait again! Waiter was great, food was delicious. Kind of pricey, but the food was almost worth it!
My first time.. I have lived in PCB for over 2 years and have heard only great reviews. I ate at shades bar and grill for the first time tonight and was thoroughly displeased. From the get go we were neglected and there wasn’t a lot of people in the place. Maybe four tables! Once a server finally came over she was more worried about taping a keg to win $25 bucks than my order or drinks. Once the food came it was bland all around. The main, the sides, everything. Except the bread. Which is what I ended up only eating. Then I ordered a second beer and it wasn’t the right beer. At this point, I was quite perturbed and just asked for the bill (minus the beer that was wrong that I didn’t drink) and the waitress got an attitude like I was wrong. Needless to say I will not go back there nor recommend this place to any family friend or vacationers. You’re welcome in advance for the warning.
Local Favorite. We just moved to the area about six months ago and Shades is already our favorite hangout. The bartenders are awesome, the food is good, and overall it is just a great place for friends, family, and to make new friends. Shades is where you will find a lot of the locals and everyone knows if the locals go there it must be good.
Consistently good food. Drinks are generous. Shades can be very busy so don’t be afraid to be a little vocal to get what you need. We have had a house here for 20 years and this is one of our go to date night places. Game day/night is nice with quality HD teles throughout. 9/10 on my palate.
Surprised. Lived close by for a couple of years and finally decided to give Shades a try. I had heard that it was mainly a sports bar and while it does give off that vibe, I was really surprised by the food. First, they have a Beer menu. Lot’s of drafts and even more in the bottle. If you aren’t sure about a draft selection, they will let you sample. That was really nice and kept me from making a selection I would’ve not wanted. I had a grilled chicken club and the wife had a grilled Salmon BLT. Both were outstanding. Chicken was nicely grilled, on toasted Sourdough. Bacon was nice big strips and the sandwich was finished with green leaf lettuce and a couple of nice slices of tomato. The wife loved her Salmon, although she would’ve liked a bit more of the yummy avocado mayo. The service was also top notch. All it was missing was a water view. Overall, great place to watch the game, grab a drink or have a nice meal with someone special. Wish I had tried this earlier.
PERFECT. This is a great little place! When you walk in you notice the SPORTS theme!!! It is a bar and grill, however, they have a variety of things to choose from… We had a great meal! Great service! and being on the corner of 30A, it was in a great spot!
Great food & fabulous service!!! One of our favorite places to go! Excited for football season at shades as well!
