Three generations of my family have enjoyed it!. I grew up in Panama City and three generations of my family have enjoyed the unique style of Mexican food served at the Sombrero Mexican Restaurant. It was a favorite of my father and uncle when they ran the West Florida Natural Gas company. They would often take customers there even though it was a bit of a drive for them. I went there often as a teen. I moved away for college and work, but for decades I have returned with my kids to visit my mother and family and we always visit the Sombrero if we can. I usually order a gallon of their wonderful hot sauce (salsa) to tide me over in Atlanta until I return.I love all the dishes I have tried there, but my favorite things are the beef and bean tostatdas, the chile con queso tostadas and the hot sauce. My mouth is watering as I write this. I’ve never tasted versions of these anywhere else that compare. In addition, the prices are very reasonable and the owners and staff are some of the sweetest people you will meet anywhere.
