Smelled Like Lassie. We heard great things about this place… Disappointed is an understatement. We would have done better (both taste and price) going to Tijuana Flats. To top it off, it smelled like a wet dog from the time we stepped in the restaurant. The only thing that was good was the salsas and queso. I don’t think this place will be in business too long. The rest of the food tasted like you were at an Applebee’s ordering Mexican food 🙁

Sizes could be bigger…. While shopping at Wiregrass recently with my mother and teenage niece we decided to grab a bite to eat at Cantina Laredo. First impression walking into the restaurant was that it was not a typical Mexican restaurant as far as dcor and staff. I loved the small touch of having a bowl of avocados (fake) sitting on the table to let you know that they obviously make their guacamole tableside. So of course we ordered that to start our meal but we requested more cilantro as they were not going to add very much. And I did notice that they avocados were actually past their perfect ripe point and probably shouldnt be used but my niece had never seen this and was fascinated but the experience so I didnt mention anything to their server. My mother and I shared the chicken/steak fajitas which were very tasty, however the amount of meat we received was not a lot at all and there was only 3 small pieces of steak (which was for my mom). My niece got a chicken enchilada that she LOVED. I took a bite of hers because it appeared that the chicken was one large piece so I was expecting it to be over cooked due to the size. I can honestly say for this type of entre I have never had a piece of chicken so moist and juicy. It was perfect. Overall, lunch was good, not worth the price tag for the amount we got. I cant see myself going back there to be frank, but its not some place that I would tell people to stay away from.

Great service!. I went to the Cantina at Wiregrass mall on a busy Saturday night and had a great time. I had the chicken stuffed with shrimp and it was delicious and the portion was huge! My server, Sarah was very attentive and the manager, David also made sure we were having a great time. I’ve been there a few times and it’s always like that.

Good food, slow service. Second time we have eaten there and unfortunately it will be the last. The food is very good, but for the second time, the service was exceptionally slow (and it was a Thursday night when most of the restaurant was empty) and the staff seemed to be indifferent. Salsa was spilled all over the table and not cleaned up until we asked…drinks arrived 45 minutes after ordering (and after we asked for them again)…the main course took over an hour to receive…the bar was nearly empty but it took over 30 minutes to get a glass of wine, and while the waitress did her best and was very busy taking care of many tables, no one else seemed to care about our experience. For the price we paid, service was horrible. Will not return.

Great Place to Stop in Wiregrass. While shopping at the Wiregrass Mall, you have any number of choices for lunch or dinner. We were there at lunchtime, and wandered into Cantina Laredo. This upscale restaurant features a wonderful Tex-Mex menu.Passing through the reception area, you enter an expansive dining room and bar. The space is separated into smaller areas by half-walls, which creates an intimate ambience without limiting the spaciousness of the room. The interior is shadowy, playing light wood finishes against black floors and fixtures, creating a sophisticated dcor. The bar features floor to ceiling shelving in polished chrome to complete the high-tech effect. Our waitress was friendly, and very capable. Drinks were served and refilled without asking. Each course was served at the proper time, in the proper sequence. They serve signature salsas and chips. The salsas are smoky-flavored, one spicy and one mild. The spicy has quite a kick to it. I highly recommend the Sopa de Tortilla. Its thick and creamy, loaded with chicken. It seems a bit pricey at $6.49/cup, but its actually a bowl. So, I would figure the bowl is a complete meal. I moved on to the Chile Rellenos, stuffed with creamy cheese with an excellent sauce. Even the rice is exceptional. My partner had Enchiladas, one chicken, one beef, and was not disappointed. The accompanying refried beans were also creamy and made an excellent side dish.Laredo is definitely a good place either to stop for a respite while shopping, or alone as a dining experience.
