Just moved to Port Richey ,Florida from the Wash DC / Maryland area. I thought I had moved away from cultural and culinary diversity then I found Pho Saigon. I am trying to limit my red meat intake because of a heart condition . In MD when I go Vietnamese I go chicken dish and Pho Ga with actual chicken broth NOT chicken in a beef broth. I surprisingly found both done well at Pho Ga of Port Richey. Still homesick but less so. Thank you, two thumbs up ! Sincerely, Alexis Morano

Great Vietnamese in Pasco County!. I was so excited to see a Vietnamese restaurant pop up in town. For those of you in West Pasco, it is a rare treat to find a non-chain restaurant in this neck of the woods. Imagine how delighted we were after dining there and learning it was excellent! The food is made to order and they use super fresh ingredients, so your veggies are crunchy, not soggy. Even the Jasmine Tea (loose, not tea bags) was wonderful. My companions had the unsweet iced tea and said it was very good, also. As we eat out a lot, I have learned that ice tea can sit too long and become disgusting, Not here- everything was super fresh.I had fried egg rolls and my companions spring rolls. My one friend makes these rolls herself and proclaimed them the best rolls she has ever had in a restaurant. She said they the ingredients were of good quality and fresh–crunchy where they should be and soft in other places. She totally enjoyed the rolls and said it was the right amount of mint inside. The egg rolls were just OK but then, they had ground shrimp in them, which they warned me, but I tried them anyway but that is probably why I cannot rave about them.I had the Lo Mein Combination, but asked them to remove the shrimp (I know many people may think I am crazy!) but it still had beef, chicken and lovely veggies: carrot, Chinese broccoli, baby corn, water chestnut, mushrooms, string beans and lemongrass. It sat in a tasty brown gravy. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the meat was tender and tasty. The veggies were crunchy– just barely stir fried, and exactly how I like them. Two of my dining companions got the same dish but with crispy noodles and with the shrimp left in. They reported that the shrimp was excellent quality, and cooked perfectly. My husband grumbled about the tails still being on, while my other companion happily crunched and consumed the shrimp, tails and all! The ONLY complaint was that the noodles were not crispy enough. Still, everyone managed to completely clean their plates. My brother had the Chicken Stir Fry with Lemongrass & Hot Pepper. It was a very savory, tasty, and well made dish! The pepper made it too hot for me, though I tried and found it exceedingly flavorful. It was served on a bed of greens with white rice on the side. They also have traditional dishes and ingredients, things like tripe, beef tendon and frogs legs, plus coconut milk and soy bean juice. They are known for their Pho noodle soups, so that will be next on the list when we return, because trust me, we will be back!! Five stars on this one!
