A simple order of chicken fried rice came with less chicken for a dollar more than regular orders anywhere else. Rice was not fresh. Took 1 1/2 hours when told 30 minutes. Gave me one tiny bag noodles on mediocre quart of soup and egg roll cold and small. Very disappointed on skimpy old food sent out cold. Never going back. NEGATIVE!! So many owners – this one was rude on phone as food – awful
I looked at all the reviews on this restaurant and all of then rated it well. I’ve been living here 35 years now and never visited this place. Well first impression as I walked in was that it looked like the place had not been renovated in 35 years. Old looking walls. old furniture. Old utensils. We were not impressed. But no judging of a book by the cover. We ordered 3 dishes on the dinner special. The soups were not bad. The veggie egg rolls we sub’d for the regular egg roll were dry cold and not fully edible. The service was good. Then the 3 main dishes came. The dishes were not separate so sharing was not what you could do. The shrimp and veggies were bland tasting although we asked for extra spicy. The honey garlic chicken was okay. The Kung pao chicken tasted as if they used yesterday’s chicken. Neither if us are all our food and only 1 of 3 took food home. I would not be visiting this establishment again. The owners need to clean up the place. Food is not as good as rated.
Best neighborhood Chinese Restaurant. Despite the need for a physical makeover, this Chinese restaurant rises to the top and transcends most others for flavor and the kind of tastes one craves for. Their hot sour soup has no equal(or should I say used to have no equal), and their shrimp curry uses large tasty shrimp in a sauce that will have you smiling. While most Chinese restaurants fall into the average category, this gem used to transcend that by a mile.
Use to be great chinese food. This place use to be great. The food was so good that I didnt mind paying a little more. Now the food is below average at best. I ordered to go and the wanton soup needed salt and the food was tasteless. The egg drop was just broth with a few scraps of egg. They serve a reduced portion of your main dish with a tower of fried to compensate. I dont recommend this restaurant anymore.
Good, simple chinese food. Our favorite place for chinese food in the Pines area. Restaurant is not always full, however their take-out is always busy. We eat here often.
