Mezza was highly recommended as an Authenic Greek Restaurant, so I couldn’t wait to try it. I have been to Greece and fell in love with the food. Went Friday night around 7:30pm and got a parking space right up front. The restaurant was packed but got seated right away. The sever came to the table immediately and recommended a Greek Beer for me and Sangria for my sister. Both were good. Saw a new table was seated and that server brought a basket of something to their table right away. Found out by reading the reviews that they bring complimentary Hummus with Pita Bread. We ordered Hummus with pita and Spanikopita as appetizers, and paidfor the Hummus/Pita Bread……and were never told that they offered it complimentary. Hummus was good but a small portion. The Spanikopita Phillo Dough was mushy, but the filling was delicious. I ate a lot of that in Greece from the street vendors who always produced a crispy crust, so that was slightly disappointing. I had the Gyro Platter and my sister had the Lemon Chicken Dinner. She loved hers. I Felt the Lamb In my platter was dry and not juicy, and they cut the pita bread into small sqares, so it made it hard to do a simple roll up. I will go back once more and try it again hoping it was a fluke.I have had better…..but want to also try some other dishes. Maybe I will have better luck.

Great Greek. I come from Detroit where I grew up with Greek town in my back yard. Mezes is the best Greek food I have eaten since I left Detroit in 1980. Authentic greek food and reasonable prices. I own Italian restaurants and this is one of the few places I frequent when dining out.
