RUDE MANAGER & AVERAGE FOOD 12/20/17 We came for the Hibachi Twilight Specials. Partner had steak and shrimp and I had scallops and chicken. We shared a California roll with brown rice. The food was average. Place is clean, but a little worn. Cook could not speak English well. When I got home I noticed two text alerts on my phone from my debit. When I checked my bank account I noticed the restaurant charged me twice. I called my Bank and was told the card was swiped twice, with the first charge already approved and the second still open apparently pending entry of a tip. I called the restaurant and the manager was very rude, saying it was somehow my fault and hung up on me. I called back politely saying that theres no way to treat a customer and I will wait to see how the charges are treated. 12/21/17 Two days later both charges were deducted from my account – one with ($61) and one without tip ($51). I had to formally contest the 2nd charge, which I was told will take at least 10 business days. 10 business days during Christmas/New Years means my funds are tied up until early/mid-January 2018. (Thank you Nami!) Due to rude management and the poorly trained staff, I would not recommend this establishment. They do not appreciate their customers.
How. Sad. If I could give this a 0 I would. It was so bad I don’t know where to begin. If you read the reviews you’ll see consistently bad service. But we were willing to risk it, if the food was good. Well, I’ll start from the beginning. No one knew what was going on when we walked in. Literally we were 3 people wanting hibachi, and it took 3 different people to get someone who could seat us. So we sit down, and red flag number two should have been that the table next to us had clearly been there for a while (they ordered their second round of margaritas) and still didn’t have a chef. We ordered before they did (odd, but we just figured they wanted to drink more before they ate..) We finally got a waitress and ordered drinks (which took forever) and then ordered our food. We chose salads instead of soup (you get one or the other here). My salad might have well have been a cold soup. It was swimming in dressing, like dripping all over the place there was so much of it. The bottom 3rd of my salad bowl was still full of dressing when I finished. Then we get a chef. This guy…cooked our food. No show, no tricks, we didn’t even get a flaming onion stack choo-choo train. I was the only one to order noodles instead of fried rice. He tossed a plate of plain noodles on the table in front of me. He then made everyone else’s fried rice. It was literally fried egg, rice, and a couple of drops of soy sauce. Uhh? So then he starts on the meat and veggies. Normally, this is when they try to get shrimp in your mouth. This guy tossed raw zucchini chunks at us. *Side note, that hurts when it lands on your eye. The meat is served with no seasoning and it hasn’t been marinated either. Finally he cooks the veggies (meanwhile i’m still looking at this plate of raw flavorless noodles in front of me). He says he forgot about my noodles and literally warms them on the grill and gives them back. This was the saddest excuse for hibachi I have ever seen. Our chef was lackluster, but the one that finally served the people next to us was not. Should you decided to torture yourself and go here, at least ask for him- Dave- to be your chef. And to go back to the terrible service, our wine glasses sat empty from the time our chef came. We never got refills, not even on the water. And when it was time to pay, we walked to the front because our waitress never came back. We could have easily walked out without paying, that’s how little attention the staff shows the customers.. I can cook better knockoff Japanese food at home than this place can. What a sad excuse for a restaurant, much less hibachi.
Bad Service. The staff is horrible and rude. They act as if they don’t need customers. Believe me their food is not that great. There are other sushi or Japanese restaurants that are better in the area. Go elsewhere where customer service is still valued.
Off the Chain!. Favorite sushi spot! Great hibachi too. Favorite roll is OFF THE CHAIN ROLL!!!
Nami is and always will be the best sushi restaurant in South Florida! Their rolls are awesome and not pure rice; it’s pure fish.. The prices are great and the service is GREAT too! The manager is always there and makes sure you are being treated good. I love this restaurant and it’s my number 1 pick for the best sushi place.
Used to be good, but service sucks now. I think Nami got to cocky. Their food is great, but the service is terrible. The last time my husband and I went there, we were seated right away because no one was there. We waited 10 minutes and no one even came to take our drink order so we walked out. We had experienced slow service there before too, but this last time was the worst. It’s too bad because we love their Off Da Chain roll, but we’ll never go back because they don’t act like they appreciate the customers.
Best restaurant by far. My fianc and I go here all of the time and we love it!!!!!!
