Been here a few times. Originally came here to try some single malt scotch. After visiting Scotland and rekindling my preference for single malts, it was kind of nice to find a local place offering a decent selection and some tours on the menu. Single malts can vary significantly from region to region and between brands, even within brands – each is unique – tours are a great way to try the differences. In Scotland, you can definitely find a wider variety and often some rare whisky, but for this area, not too many options – a handful of places I’ve found but then I can’t say I’ve searched too deeply… moving on to the food, it was good, not great but always good. It’s similar to many large chain operations. But they do have some traditional pub foods. The fish and chips is my personal favorite. My wife prefers a thinner batter, I do too, but I liked the batter even though it is a bit thick and a little doughy. The fries tasted more like frozen but decent enough. To bring the food up in rating, they should thin out the batter a bit so it’s a little more crisp and less doughy and fresh cut potatoes for the fries would go long way to upping the rating. It’s an ok place but there are better in the area. Once in a while it’s ok if we want to stay nearby.
