First off there are two Bagelheads, one downtown on Gregory and one on 9 mile. They are not owned by the same person. The downtown location is far superior in my opinion. My favorite is the Jalapeno Cheddar bagel dark toasted with scallion cream cheese. The service is friendly, though the guy behind the espresso machine is not nearly asfriendly as the girl that usually operates it. All told it was a pleasant experience and I will be back. (Probably on my wayto the beach!)

Staff was friendly & helpful. Had a great coffee selection. Food was good & delivered quickly. My husband & I had bagel sandwiches & drinks (coffee & coke) and our daughter had an egg (just scrambled egg) cup with a cinnamon roll & milk. Honestly I felt it was overpriced ($27) for (quite large) breakfast sandwiches, though my husband doesn’t think it was overpriced at all! Lol! Either way, we had a great time eating our breakfast while enjoying a view of the water 🙂
We used to live in the area and loved this place. What happened!? it turned out to be such a disappointment. Food wasn’t prepared right. The bagelzone didn’t have the sauce we asked and bagels didn’t have right cream cheese.
Mediocre bagels, pre-mixed slab of egg :(. Many enticing bagel offerings, yet it doesn’t taste like they are parboiled. Ordered bacon, egg and provolone on jalapeno-cheddar bagel. Barely tasted the jalapeno or cheddar. Eggs were premixed and bacon was possibly undercooked and shredded or maybe it was ham but it didn’t seem like bacon. Sad to say that whole breakfast sandwich was disappointing. 2 coffees, 2 bagel sandwiches = $17. Neither of us finished our bagels.
All together a 10 that is now a 3. Bagelheads has the ability to be a 5 star cutting edge place to eat…I used to get the Hot Herman, but only had it made the way I wanted once out of 15 times. I soon gave up and we just went to bagels before church. Everytime we order it comes out not right… weather burnt or lacking on filling…. We called to talk to a manager and were told she didn’t have time to speak, as they were busy. The last time I saw a manager making food was never! A managers position is to handle the fires and put them out…. It is such a shame that an establishment that is that awesome could be that cold.I will ensure to tell everyone I know how much this place isn’t worth visiting…SSgt. Hewitt/USMC
