Pretty basic Mexican food! Food quality is decent and the portions are relatively large! Typical menu items with a few small upgrades! Not a bad choice

Atmosphere is nice and clean, service was good, but margaritas were made from cheap store mix, and queso dip tasted like melted butter with a little cheese. Fajitas portions were large, and tasted good. Overall I’d say this is average food for above average price.

I love Mexican food, I really LOVE it, and would eat it almost every meal if I could, and it might not be fair that I have started to like authentic Mexican food more than Tex-Mex. We now have several awesome Mexican food places in Pensacola that serve super authentic food and I am so enamored with them. I do have to say that my roots were first grown in Tex-Mex in Dallas as a small child, but this review might be tainted by El Asador, Taco Mex, and Taqueria Olgy’s, and the super fresh, super good dishes that they produce. All that being said, I thought that the food that Cactus Cantina put on our table was lacking quite a bit.First I have to say that the salsa was really good, and I enjoyed it, but I would have enjoyed it more if the server brought us another bowl of it, or more chips, but he was like a unicorn, I never saw one, but heard of them. He showed up at our table and acted like he might have explosive diarrhea, since he asked a couple of questions and ran off almost never to be seen again……..brother if you got some GI distress, just call in!!!! We asked for some cheese dip, and never saw it, or him. Someone from the kitchen brought out our main dishes (I assume our server was still blowing it out in the bathroom), sooooo other than being a nasty thought, I still have no idea what the hell he was doing. I hope he washed his hands, blah!I ordered the Cactus California Burrito and it was ok. I thought if I ordered one, it would be filled with lettuce and tomato, since fresh veggies are a staple of California Mex, but alas no. It did have avocado on top of it, but those are mostly from Mexico, not Cali.My wife ordered the fish tacos and she warned me ahead of time that I probably would not like them and wooo…….I did not. The fish was super fishy, and come on! We live on the gulf coast, and I expect to get fresh fish, and no fresh fish tastes like that. The seasoning was super strong, but I could still taste how old it tasted. Nasty.Lastly, when our server showed up, he said he took the cheese dip off our bill, and dropped the check on the table, never saying he was sorry that he did not bring out something that we ordered, and the topper was…..he said he really enjoyed waiting on us. Really? What the hell did you do to wait on us? We waited on you my friend. This is average food, Taco Bell with table service. There are too many great places to dine, this is not one of them.Oh, almost forgot to mention the bus boy that was so crushing on the hostess that he was not doing anything, but chase her around the restaurant, and not noticing her refusing his advances, and looking irritated.

Awesome Awesome food, I love this place! One of my favorite places to eat. Both locations are top notch and other places could take a lesson from these guys on customer service. Chips and Salsa are the bomb, so far I haven’t had a bad meal or experience here! I know people that have bad experiences are first to write bad reviews, I am guilty of it, so when you had or have a great experience you should take the same time to recognize a positive experience! I highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed!

Stay away. far away.. Awful just awful. The food tasted cheap in quality. The hubby and I both had headaches after we ate and threw out the left overs. The service was slow and food over priced. There are much better restaurants in Pensacola.

Ridiculously expensive cheap food. $9.50 for a freakin chicken quesadilla? That doesn’t even come with rice or beans. And it wasn’t any better/larger than a $4 quesadilla from LaHacienda. Chips were disgustingly greasy. Bartender was rude and pushy, basically forced us to order before we were ready. I rarely take time out of my day to leave reviews at all, much less a bad one, but seriously – go to any other Mexican restaurant in town and you’ll be happy.

Better than Monterreys.. Good food and a Beautiful building. Service was good and I’ll be back all the way from the key.
