Tried out Chrisoula’s the other day when I forgot my lunch, and someone in the office told me that they deliver. I was pretty hungry, and since it is somewhere new to me, I wanted to try several things in order to get a idea of how good (or bad) they are. I decided to order a sandwich, potato salad and some soup. I ended up ordering a Chicken & Provolone sandwich and some Cheesy Chicken Tortilla Soup, and paid the upcharge for the potato salad in lieu of the chips.I have to say that the guy on the other end of the phone was super nice and made it really easy to place my order and informed me that they have the card swiper thing for Apple iPhones so I did not have to read him my card information (which I do not like to do) and I would swipe my card when the delivery guy made it to the office…..Nice!The soup came hot and the sandwich and potato salad came cold, which was really nice. The soup was interesting, since I never thought to add cheese or cream to tortilla soup, but it needed some salt and was goodish.The sandwich was served on a croissant (no choice of bread, but i admit I did not ask), and I prefer something else for my sandwiches, and it was a good solid sandwich, but nothing I could not do at home. I did not like the honey mustard on it (sweet and meat AGAIN….hasn’t this been played out enough yet? I grow tired of it, very tired). The potato salad was fine, there are something like 80 thousand ways to make it and this was one of them. Nothing to complain about, but it didn’t make fireworks shoot out of my ears either.I went looking for a good lunch at a cheesecake shoppe. You win some and you loose some. Don’t get me wrong, eat here and you will get good service and a good meal. It just did not make me fall in love. I do love cheesecake though and did not try any. Perhaps in the future?

My fianc treated me to this wonderful cafe and bakery to earn brownie points… I’m so glad he did! Cheesecake is my favorite cake and Chrisoula’s Cheesecake is my new craving when it comes to dessert! The tasty cafe food and friendly staff are bonuses. This was my first trip to the little shoppe downtown and definitely not my last!
