They are going through a lot of changes at City Grocery. Most of the grocery items are gone, and they have added more seating and an actual bar area with TVs, beer, and, wine. It looks like it’s still a work in progress, but the extra seating and service is neat. The hours have also changed; they are open later, till 10p and 11p on the weekends. It will be interesting to see how this progresses. Was a bit disappointed with the sandwiches this visit, however, which is kind of new :/ Weird changes like iceberg lettuce and smaller portions. Oh well, could have been a one day quirk.
I have yet to come across something that I didn’t like. My personal favorite is the 12th Avenue Melt. The muffaletta is a close second. When Mardi Gras comes I get all of my king cakes from here because they bring in the best!!! I love the cream cheese king cake from Party Palace!!!
