I used to buy chocolate filled donuts all the time when they were on Navy blvd. When the store was closed down, i went to krispy kreme. KK was Way too sweet than DD. While visiting Atlanta, they had DD. However, there Filled donuts started to go downhill. There was hardly any filling and some had none at all. It was like i was eating a plain donut. When i saw there was a new store on Airport blvd, I tried them. The filled donuts hardly had filling at all. So disappointed and have not gone back. I’ve read other similar reviews saying the same thing However, the other donuts were good.
Wanted to like them. I was raised on Krispy Kreme style donuts. However I still enjoyed Dunkin Donuts when they were located on Navy Blvd about 20 years ago. I preferred KK then as I do now. When DD came back to town I thought it would be nice to have an alternative to KK, but no. My wife was raised up north where DD is king and she was excited that DD was coming to town to show me that DD was just as good as KK and I was crazy to believe how much better KK was.But the proof is in the… donuts. The cake donuts I had from DD were dry and bland. Also their breakfast sandwiches are terrible. The ones from Subway are better, and those are pretty bad. I don’t much care for their coffee but I know some people swear by it, so maybe if you like the coffee you can put up with the donuts.
Exceptional coffee. Always. And at superlow price. Donuts are far less greasy than Krispy Kreme and have more texture and basic flavor (before sugar coatings and flavorings). KK is more aligned to local tastes but I’m a transplant and prefer Dunkin Donuts — and the coffee is far better too. So good I buy it to make at home.
Bummer.. I was so excited when Dunkin’ Donuts finally came to Pensacola, but then there was no comaparison with Krispy Kreme. Dunkin’s coffee is the bomb, but with those donuts, I would prefer to drive all the way to the other side of town to get a good donut.
