We were in town for a concert at the Pensacola Bay Center and were looking for a local owned place within walking distance of the Arena. This was it. The food was home made authentic Italian and was very good. Our server was one of the family members, which is always nice. I had the Sampler platter. Their meatballs were delicious.
It was disappointing, flavorless sauces, overcooked pasta. The place has had some positive reviews since my visit. I hope that they were just having a bad night, but I won’t be taking a chance on repeating that experience.
Used to be a good restaurant. My husband is Italian and grew up eating at Franco’s on Pensacola Blvd and then on Gregory Street. His family was friends with Franco. Franco’s was one of the first restaurants my husband took me to and it was good. We haven’t been in a few years and went this past weekend. The food was terrible. What happened to this place? My husband was so disappointed. The food had absolutely no flavor. They seem to be cutting corners and it shows. I ordered the Chicken Francesca. The edges on the very thin piece of chicken was very dried out and very hard. The mushrooms they use are from a can. My husband ordered the Italian Dinner and he said it was terrible and was flavorless. My daughter ordered chicken nuggets and they were the cheap kind that don’t taste good that you find in the frozen food section of a grocery store. The restaurant had very few customers even though Pensacon was happening nearby with 20, 000 attendees.. It looked run down. There was trash littering the outside and a wet shoe that looked like it had been there for a while on their walkway. Sorry to say we won’t be back or recommend.
I had the Italian dinner. Liked about half of it. Ravioli- not good, Egg plant- not good, Manicotti- OK, Lasagna – Good, Ziti- good, Spaghetti- good but needed to drains more. Overall a decent dining experience, a little on the expensive side, service was good. Will I come back, maybe, I think I’ll look for another Italian restaurant to try before I say I’ll return here.
Stay away!!. Not worth paying for. Christmas lights for decorations. The bus boy was in the corner doing homework. Frozen spinach was served on my husbands chicken. My spaghetti was drowning in grease. Italian food shouldn’t make my stomach hurt.
Best real Italian food in Pensacola. Forget McGuires across the street GO eat at Francos. The only reaL ITALIAN FOOD IN PENSACOLA. Try the grouper Sorrento. Truly delicious. Don’t let the simple decor fool you this is great food. THE BEST PART is it is locally owned and operated. All my adult children request to go here for their birthdays and that says a lot as we were in Europe for 8 years
Had the chicken Alfrado and it was terrible !!!! $16.95 for pressed meat out of a can 🙁
