Had a great night with my wife before Gallery Night started last Friday. We arrived early, right after work and we were met at the door by a very nice greeter, we asked to sit at the bar, and our super nice server Daisy took it from there. She discussed with us the specials, and went into great detail on the different Sake that they offer. She told us her favorites and we went with her selections (see pictures) and were very glad that we did. Each saki was very different from the next, there were amazing layers of flavors that you will never get from that green bottled generic sushi bar sake. You have to at least try the carbonated one (pink bottle) and the one in the can, but be careful, they serve some strong sake, some being near 40 proof!Dinner started out with uni nigiri (not on the menu, and we had two servings), and it was wonderful, and the freshest uni I have ever eaten. If you have never tried it, I urge you to give it a shot here, this is very good uni. We also gave the ceviche a shot (not on the menu either, and only served on the weekend until it runs out) and Dot hits it right on the nail with the texture and the balance of acid. We really liked it, and drank the liquid out of the bottom of the bowl, when no one was looking. We next ordered the pork dumplings and I liked them but my wife was not as much of a fan since the meat is seasoned aggressively, if you like breakfast sausage, it reminded me of it a little. Lastly we ordered the mussels and really enjoyed them a lot. Daisy suggested we order a bowl of rice to eat the broth with after the mussels are gone, and that was a great idea. You want to be careful, if you are not a spicy fan, since the spice sinks to the bottom of the bowl. This is a nice restaurant, and it has very attentive staff, and unique upbeat modern decor with some good asian flare thrown in for good measure. Dot has brought his A game to his latest offering and we know we will be back. Only draw back we really found was it gets really loud when it gets really busy, but after all, it was Gallery Night and therefore probably much busier that most any other night.

Best Asian Cuisine in Pensacola. We went there for dinner before the Flyers and It was outstanding. Decor and atmosphere was good, wait staff very attentive. The menu had lots of Asian Cuisine, Cambodian to Japanese. Had the Coconut Curry Soup and the Panang Curry was awesome. I would recommend this place to all who like good Asian cooking or are considering trying Asian cooking this is the place to start. They just opened August 2014 hope they have a great year in 2015. Even as a winter snowbird we love Restaurants like this to treat our taste buds….

Wonderful spot. Some of the reviews I have read are ridiculous. The food here is excellent. Always hot, quickly served, and fresh. Have visited 3 times now, twice for dinner, and once for lunch. Not disappointed yet. The portions are large, price is right. Unfortunately, many residents of the area have a Wal-Mart mentality when it comes to food. They expect buffet style or Olive Garden. They don’t understand the concept of quality meal. Glad downtown Pensacola has something new and exciting like Kohn’s.

I would not recommend this place at all! Portion sides were tiny and our server (Sydney) was sub par at best. We had the hostess ask us how our food was and if we needed more drinks, our server never asked one question. The only bright side was the taste of the sushi was decent. For the price, I expected a lot more!

Interesting decor, interesting food!. We met a group of friends here about a week ago and none of us had been here prior. We were all surprised at the way the food was served- wonderful presentation. I ordered the whole fish and really enjoyed the toppings and the spices it was cooked with. Soup, Sushi, and an appetizer was also ordered and everyone was pleased. So glad this is in Pensacola and has a great location.

Welcome addition to downtown!. Tried Khon’s for the first time this weekend. Small, eclectic Southeast Asian fusion. Got there before the crowd, service was excellent and the food came out quickly! Had happy hour shrimp tempura and shrimp tempura sushi. Loved the tempura, sushi was pretty good, beer was ice cold! Shared Pho with chicken and Cha B’ Kong with my wife. The Pho as another reviewer stated was quite bland, and lacking flavor, while the other dish was quite tasty.Prices were reasonable, service excellent and very nice atmosphere and food presentation. Look forward to trying more dishes, we’ll be back soon!

No go on pho. I, like many people, waited anxiously for this place to open. I had such high expectations having experienced the chef / owners food elsewhere. I was underwhelmed. by the flavor of the PHO. The staff was great, friendly, busy, and there were a lot of them. The sushi was very average, having eaten at other nearby sushi places, KHON needs to hire a dedicated high level sushi chef while he is very busy in the kitchen. The very nice, but young American sushi staff cant really compare to experienced Asian trained sushi chefs. The comparison of PHO , is that having the Pho at another local Vietnamese eatery where the PHO is legendary…KHONs pho is not even in the same ball park. The broth IS the PHO in any Vietnamese setting…KHONs was very weak in flavor…even bland. Prices were what one would expect in this location, presentation, freshness, and service are outstanding. There were other dishes being served that looked very good, and I will defiantly be back to try them. I hope this place is a success, KHON is a good guy who has worked very hard on this concept, and knowing they had many challenges just to get open, hopefully now he can consider some flavor upgrades. Good Luck Guys
