Second time here and loved it. Chicken and waffles are better than most. Great wine list, good service, great atmosphere. Average rating of 3.8 on this site and I couldn’t believe it, definitely better than that.
Love the atmosphere, great service, and great food. By far my favorite place to eat. I’ve eaten here about 10 times, for brunch and dinner, and have yet to be disappointed. Large portions, so you definitely don’t leave hungry. Their menu changes pretty regularly, and their pot roast and creme brulee is to die for!
I love this place! Great food, really cool beer and wine menu and great wait staff. Zack is very knowledgeable and hilarious. He will point you in the right direction and crack a few jokes in between. Give this place a shot. Read the menu carefully. Not your standard menu items.
Nice decor. Wait staff was nice, our server wasClara was really good- appropriately attentive. The food however was not as good as I’d hoped. Taking traditional comfort foods and putting a spin on them is cool but you have to do well. The meatloaf was basically a very large piece of meat. Meatloaf needs a gravy of some sort- period! The mashed potatoes had a strange taste and very little body. The kale was heavily covered in vinegar. Very disappointing for the cost. My BLT-E was fair- hard fry on the bacon. The starters were pretty good. I recommend the egg rolls- delicious. Great service and atmosphere.
I have been watching this place come up the ladder of restaurants in the Pensacola area for awhile now, and finally had the opportunity to eat here on Sunday night. First a few observations, The place is an old breakfast diner, so as you can imagine, it is small. Including the bar area, it will probably seat around 50 people max, They do take reservations, so if you really want to make sure you get a table, make reservations. The wait staff is very good, but I did notice that our waitress was getting a little aggravated with how long it was taking to get the food out. That being said, be prepared for a long wait for your food, Get a glass of wine and have some actual conversations instead of keeping your head in a cell phone. The food is very tender and tasty, which made me a little uncomfortable, as I am allergic to MSG. I had the signature dish of Pot Roast, while my wife had the chicken pot pie. Also tried the brussel spouts, which were also very tasty. Prices, I felt were just a tad high for comfort food, but it was very good, so I don’t mind paying a little more for good food. That being said, to return to the MSG issue, apparently some of the spices that they use, do in fact have MSG. Luckily for me, it was not a lot, so I only got a headache and upset stomach. I truly wish that restaurants would post on their menus, when they use spices with MSG. That aside, if you are looking for comfort food in the Pensacola area, this is the place for you. Just don’t go here if you are in a hurry.12/14/2015On our last visit, I found that they were using spices that contained MSG, which causes me problems, but the food itself was very good. I gave them a good review based on the fact that I did not think that they realized that they were using spices with MSG. We decided to give them another try for lunch on 12/16/2015. This time I decided on the Grouper sandwich while my wife chose the Reuben sandwich. We split them so that we could both try each. The grouper sandwich was very tasty, but quite messy to eat, while the Reuben was actually pretty bad. There was almost no sauce or sauerkraut and the pastrami was tough and dry. Neither had MSG so that was good, but overall we were very disappointed in the quality of the food. We both wanted to like this place, but they seem to be making it hard to do that. It is OK, but definitely will not be one of our go to restaurants.
The BEST mac & cheese I’ve ever had! Hubby had the pot roast and it was amazing too. Zack was our server and he was great! Will come back every time we’re in town!
Pot roast on point. My husband and I were looking for a nice date night place and we weren’t dissapoonted. It’s comfort food with a twist and they mean it. The fish and chips is lovely fried alligator and fries with four different sauces. The staff as helpful and attentive while we were there. They were very knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings that would complement the dishes. The post roast was fall apart, melt in your mouth amazing. The roast chicken was pleasantly spicy and stuffed with herbs. There would have been pictures of this if we hadn’t immediately demolished them. Dessert was maple bacon bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream. Fantastic! Can’t wait to take friends here.
