Ate here a few months ago with my spouse. We sat at the bar where it was great seeing the drinks made (which were fabulous) and wait for our food. The quality of our meal was superb, I haven’t had a better meal in Pensacola. It is pricey, but I deem it worth it. Definitely a special occasion spot for me. Had a hipster vibe, probably not suitable for a large group.

The service was good. The duck was disappointing, small as my thumb, under cooked and rubbery. The skin was jellatenous. The escargot appetizer was fantastic, get a baget for the beautiful sauce. Should have had the lamb shank, you were right again dear.

Iron’s food is revolutionary and tasty. Executive Chef, Alex McPhail, is a local hero!!! He’s revitalizes southern food, offers ambient yet casual dining, and does not relent on portion, artistic presentation, or exotic flavor pairings. The food’s so good that you will not only feel content, but you will want to eat there again. If you’re a local (anywhere from Tallahassee to New Orleans), then you’re a regular. If you’re from out of town, then it’s practically guaranteed that you’ll eat there at least twice. Sitting at the chef’s counter and watching the open kitchen is like attending an exhibit about fine dining or a runway show of gorgeous, fashionable fare. Try the salads!

Was in Pensacola visiting friends and this restaurant was suggested to me. We ate there with another couple – we will all be back! The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, and there is enough room to navigate and have a conversation without being to crowded. We all ordered various app’s, and I ordered the scallops. All were divine! The service was polite, helpful, and knowledgeable. When I am in the area, I will plan on another visit. Highly recommend…..

My most favorite restaurant in Pensacola. The staff is friendly, passionate, knowledgable, and professional. The food is by far and away the best I’ve found in 100 mile radius, not just because of the taste but because of the mission to be innovative. The cherry on top is the late night menu on weekends.

Led by a young talented chef. Originally a farm to table inspired restaurant where you could walk their gardens. Since they’ve moved downtown they loss their gardens, but maintained a since of pride. Personally I’ve always enjoyed their duck. Nice wine selection.

My husband indulged me for a belated birthday dinner at my favorite restaurant in town. Again, I was thrilled with the experience. We arrived early and had cocktails with Campbell at the bar. He was super friendly (even bothering to learn our names . . . and REMEMBER them) while educating us on the cocktail menu and offering advice on food pairings. Turned out it was happy hour so we had two cocktails each and were thrilled when the 1/2 price bill arrived! For dinner, we sat at the kitchen counter (basically by ourselves other than one other couple) and were completely entertained watching the theatre of the kitchen. Kent, our server, was equally awesome. I’ve never had a server offer the initial tasting of the wine to both parties (i.e., husband and wife). I thought that was a smart touch on his part. The escargot were fantastic – as I remembered. We also loved the crab soup. I had the catch of the day (cobia) with the best maque choux ever.We decided that night that it’s the best restaurant we can think of between Destin and New Orleans. Now that it’s found its home on Palafox we hope it stays put for decades to come!
