This was the worst Hibachi food we have ever had. We have tried a lot of Hibachi food between FL and TN. My grandmother is Japanese and I know how the food is supposed to be. We were sat at the Hibachi table with a family of 7 that was already there. My seat was actually at the other grill since they tried to put us all on the same table. The other family had already been there a while and had finished their soup already before we were sat. The soup (tried both Miso and chicken) were terrible. Salad was ok, very watery. We tried the steam Goza, was soggy and slimy. Seemed as was frozen goza and was not cooked correctly. Wife had vegetable and philly sushi. She ate just a few of each and said was worst sushi she has had. Cook came out, I believe he was mexican (said something in spanish to waiter). He seemed like he did not know what he was doing and barely said 2 words the whole time. Only thing he ever said was to ask if this was correct food for that person. He kept fumbling around and seemed very disorganized. Rice was crunchy and tasted terrible. Half of it was not even mixed right so was still just white rice. Vegetables had no flavor and will still crunchy, as if they had not been cooked long enough. The hibachi chicken was last thing we had. Was cooked with teriyaki glaze, but was worst glaze I had seen. My daughter and I ate a bite each and stopped. We just asked for the check. We only ended up eating a few Goza, couple sushi, some fried rice and piece of chicken. Prices were crazy, for 2 chicken Hibachis, goza, 2 sushi and 3 drinks were over $62! Now I know why everyone was sitting in the dining area instead of Hibachi. The place looks old and run down. The seats for Hibachi looked like something from a middle school. They were hard, small and uncomfortable. We were afraid we were going to break them sitting in them.

Their rolls are well balanced and tasty and never taste fishy. Their fried rice is really the best in town and one of the main reasons we go. The service is really hit or miss though but unless you are in a real hurry, it’s not a big deal.

I arrived at Sake Cafe on a whim… This place was excellent! Very fresh raw fish and the quail eggs were among the best I have had. The service was outstanding on a busy Friday night.

We’ve hit a late lunch and gotten their half price sushi, which is normally good. Try the crab nachos! Hibachi is entertaining and they’ve been good to accommodate medium sized parties. Double check your take out orders! My score is mediocre simply because last time I was there a fly came out stuck to a roll and placed on the table without any staff noticing.

Sake Cafe Special Seaweed Salad. Phenomenal!30 Mar, 2015Dynamite Roll. Very good30 Mar, 2015We ate here on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the sushi bar. Everything was wonderful! Service was great and the sushi chefs were phenomenal-gave us fresh tuna on the house just so we could try it. Really enjoyed it! Great place for date night!
