I was looking for a brunch buffet and there doesn’t seem to be any except at Skopelos. I called Hemingway and they said that they don’t have a brunch buffet anymore. This is a nice place and $21 for the Sunday brunch buffet is quite reasonable. It has scenic potatoes, cheese grits, bacon, sausage links, squash & zucchini, gemelli pasta, seared chicken with sundried tomato, pesto, and feta, seared swai fish with mushroom & barley, and so on. They also have a to order bar with crepe, waffle, and omelette. $21 also includes a complimentary mimosa. The chicken and swai were quite tasty. So was the scenic potato. I didn’t try the salad or dessert bars. I did have a brandy caramelized strawberry and banana crepe though. It was perfect. Just what I needed to conclude the brunch. The staff was also very friendly and attentive, not over talkative kind of attentive, but filling up your water and taking your dirty plates kind of attentive. My only complaints were that they ran out of plates on my third run and I found some dirty plates in the clean plate piles. I have found about 3 and they weren’t just a spot kind of dirty, but smear in various place kind of dirty. The dishwasher needs to do a better job.
